When one of the officers walked past my cell, I gently tugged on his arm through the bars.
"Officer, would you be kind enough to send a message to Juliet Fergison?" I asked with a pleading look on my face.
"Oh, alright. What do you want?" he replied with a sigh.
"Just tell her to come by here because I have all the proof I need." I said.
"The only reason that I'm doing this is because you didn't really commit a crime," he informed me. "Since I have to walk all the way to her house, I want something in return. What's in it for me?"
"Well, if Juliet can explain how I got this evidence, then she will pay you for going through all of that trouble arresting me. If not, then you won't receive anything, and I'll do my time in jail," I explained.
The officer stroked his chin in deep thought for a moment, and then nodded his head in agreement.
"Oh, and don't tell her about the deal I made with you if you really want to get that money!" I yelled to him as he nodded his head once more, indicating that he heard what I had said. Then he left the building.
I waited in silence for the man to return with Juliet, and he came back in a few minutes.
"Yeah, yeah," Juliet said to the officer. "Where's this proof Maya Fergison?" she asked me while tapping her foot repeatedly in annoyance.
"Sir, would you mind if I spoke with her in private?" I told the officer. He tipped his hat and walked just outside of the building.
"Okay. Here." I said to Juliet as I handed her a wrinkled up picture. It had Juliet in it along with my mother, Daniella, and Mary-Sue.
"What's this?" She asked not looking up from the paper.
"That is called a photograph. It was taken with a device from the future that is called a camera," I told her.
"We don't have things this advanced in this time period. The only way you cold have obtained this, is by coming from...the future."
"So. You can explain how I got this proof right?" I smirked as the officer walked into the jail.
"Yes," said Juliet.
"Well, now that you know I'm telling the truth, I should probably be bailed out of jail," I said. "But there's one little thing that you have to do..."
"Yes," the officer spoke, "Maya promised me that you'd pay me some money if you could explain where she got her proof from."
"Take it," Juliet huffed as she put a fair amount of bills in his hand. She gave my photo back and waited for me to follow her.
The officer thanked her. "As a thank you to Maya, I will release her from jail for free," he announced as he let me out of my cell.
I thanked him before jogging to catch up with Juliet.
"I know for a fact that she isn't fully convinced," the voice said, "Now she probably doesn't want to listen to anything that you say."
"Well how do you know what she going to do?" I said to the voice.
"I cannot answer that question yet, but I do know that you'll have to show her one more piece of evidence before she'll help us..." the voice replied.
