What you were and what I was

You were the sun rays on a day filled with angry clouds.
You were the guiding light on an empty, lonely train track.
You were the beautiful rise of a new day after a hollow, long night.

You were the colorful flowers of all kinds after a never ending, depressing winter season.
You were the calm night of a sky filled with stars after a gray, sorrowful day.

You were all the letters of all the languages surrounding this earth that still couldn't begin to describe you.
You were all the feelings mixed together in just one smile.

And baby I could write forever about you, about what you meant to me, about the way you filled me with unnamed emotions.

Only to know that all I meant to you was a cigarette after a rough day, a cigarette that you light up and inhale all the satisfaction it could give, drying it of all it contains, and once you're done, throw it on the empty side lane, crush it with the bottom of your shoe and blind its light, its smoke, its shape.

And it's unfair how you were all the beautiful things that made this universe... And I was the ugliest thing that killed all innocent souls.
