When I tried to forget you

You were the sun and the stars,
the earth and the moon,
you were all.

And because you were all,
you couldn't help but leave.

But once you left the universe shattered,
the skies split,
and the stars heaved.

And I,
I tried to hold myself together,
I tried to forget you,
the way you forgot about me.

I tried to to remove you from my heart,
but then I realized it beat for your smiles.

I tried to remove you from my head,
but then I realized you were all it thought about.

I tried to remove you from my veins,
but then I realized you were the blood they pumped.

I tried to remove you from my lungs,
but then I realized you were the breath they blew.

I tried to remove you from my universe,
but then it cracked in response.

So tell me,
how could it have been easy to you while I suffered my all.
