Bonnie watched Zion as he gently stroked their son's back. She smiled in awe and took a careful step back, not wanting to disturb the two.
She heard River cry and ran towards the room before realizing Zion was inside. She couldn't bring herself to walk away or disturb that beautiful moment. Of course she remembered the deal. But a lot has changed and she could never prohibit Zion to see his son.
She thought about telling him so, but was afraid he'd take it the wrong way. She was afraid he would yell at her, but she was overall afraid that he might say something that he'd regret in the future. She knew Zion and was aware that he was trying hard not to show any emotions towards her son as long as anybody watched.
So this moment that she got to witness was probably not going to happen for a while. It was rare and precious to see Zion that vulnerable and gentle towards another creature. Bonnie was about to leave when she heard Zion talk again.
"I got you." Her heart melted right then and there.
"Everything's alright."
