The next day, Zion sat in his office. He remembered the look on River's face that morning as he looked up at his father from his crib. He was probably hoping that Zion would get him out and make him breakfast like the other day. But all he did was give his little forehead a kiss and leave unnoticed. He once again was running from confrontation, now more than ever. He could understand why Bonnie wanted to talk about his feelings and his past, but he was just not ready yet. He doubted that he'd ever be ready to talk about it. But until she realized that he was not going to open up anytime soon, he would avoid her.
Now for a man with his IQ, he was stupid not to think about the possibility of Bonnie visiting his office. Because that was exactly what happened in that exact moment. His door swung open, kicked to the wall behind it. He didn't jump, but widened his eyes when Bonnie walked inside, newspapers clutched in her hands. But he didn't notice them at first.
"Zion-" Bonnie said, lifting the papers.
"I can't believe you. I am clearly not in the mood to talk to you, don't you get it? Is there any place on earth where I can seek peace and quiet? Where you can't find me to rob me of the last strings of my patience?" He asked, standing up, getting angry once again.Bonnie glared at him after hearing what he said. She swore to herself that she was not going to back down, but hearing him call her a nuisance made her wonder how much of that she could take before she snapped. She'd find out a second later.
"You know you're good in bed and stuff, but we're never going to be more than that. I hope you recall the way how River was conceived and why. I would just like to remind you that I have no reason to trust you with anything. So for the time being, I will let you stay at my house, but you will not get more than that." Zion continued, standing up and closing his suit jacket.
"Zion, I didn't-" She tried again, her pulse raising each second.
"Save it. Just leave me alone for once." He raised his hand, telling her to shut it. The two soon found themselves in a staring competition. But Bonnie quickly shook her head, glancing back down at the papers in her hand, the actual reason why she came."I read the papers today. I don't know if you read them, but apparently Kent wrote a letter of apology, of course anonymously. I know for a fact that you did that and I am angry that you didn't even tell me about your plan. But I know what I mean to you now, so I'm not surprised." She said, throwing the paper at his chest and turning around.
Zion watched her walk out with that amazing swing in her hips. He felt bad for saying the things he said, especially once he comprehended what she responded. He let the papers fall against his chest and slide down onto the floor, his attention completely focused on her. He inwardly sighed and shook his head. Bonnie turned back around once she reached the door.
"You know my childhood also didn't only consist of ice cream, flowers and unicorns. But you don't see me being an asshole to you." And with that, Bonnie left him standing in his office, suddenly wondering what she had to tell. He suddenly realized that he knew close to nothing about her as well.
He remembered googleing her and not finding aout anything. He only recalled the dinner at Maddox' place, where she talked a little bit about her sisters and her dad. He also just knew that she grew up in Rian. Now he couldn't help but think about her words. Her childhood didn't consist of ice cream, flowers and unicorns. Did that mean she lost someone as well? What about her mother? He did remember Maddox talking about her father loosing his life to a mine accident.
It was too late now, he told himself. He already told her that he basically doesn't care about her, she would never open up to him now. Especially if he didn't.
Zion looked down at the floor and read the front page. Of course he already knew what was on it. After all, he made it.
Jealousy is a green monster
"I wanted what he had and I was ready to get it, no matter how high the cost. I regret not considering what my lies might do to the people involved. I hope that Zion and Bonnie can forgive me for what I did."
.
When Zion came home that afternoon, he didn't see Bonnie anywhere. He quickly walked upstairs into his guest room and saw it tidied and cleaned up as if she had never lived there. He frowned but knew exactly that she was gone. He just didn't expect her to leave.
And now he felt guilty all over again. Especially when he walked downstairs into the kitchen and saw a post-it sticking to the fridge. He quickly ripped it off and started to read.
Since the paparazzi should no longer be following me, I decided to book a hotel room at Falcon's. If you want to see River, you can, but please message me before you arrive. He'll be at Sheryl's tomorrow, so you can visit him there.
- BonnieZion sighed and immediately took out his phone. He knew people at Falcon's and was glad she decided to go with one of the best and safest hotels of Penta. After asking his friend, he knew her room number and how long she attended to stay. He also managed to pay for her stay and the extra costs of room service and what not.
He hung up soon after and found himself walking towards his mini bar again. Before he knew it, he was on the ground sobbing once again.
