Neither of Us

A ring taken out of a pocket

A knee upon the ground

A sudden look of shock

stares from the tables all around

A hand placed over a mouth

A terrible moment of waiting

A stomach that begins churning

Why is she hesitating?

A side to side head movement

An "I'm sorry, I have to go"

A crowd of diners looking embarrassed

Secretly enjoying this sad show

A confused man once again standing

A ring put back away

An immediate case of denial

She's just having a bad day

A mind slowly coming to a realization

A single tear falling from an eye

She's never going to love me

Neither of us know why
