11: Max

    I was woken up by Emma shaking me. "Emma?" I asked groggily. "Wake up Light Head!" She said. "Alright I'm up Owl Face!" I replied. "Get ready!" She said and I nodded. "What are you doing her anyway?" I asked. "Chiron wants to talk to you." She replied. "What about?" I asked. "I have no idea." She responded. "Come on you're a daughter of Athena you're supposed to be smart. You don't know anything?" I asked. "Whatever it is it's two things one bad, one good. That's all I know I swear." She replied
       Emma left and I started to get ready. When I was ready I left my cabin and started walking towards the Big House. Emma was there waiting for me. "Good luck!" She said. And then Emma walked closer. She KISSED me on the cheek. Then we both blushed. "Thanks." Was all I managed then went inside.
       "Ah good you're here! Sit down." Chiron said. I  sat down. "Do you want the good news or bad news first?" He asked. "Good news." I replied. "Your sister was born today!" Chiron replied. "Really? That's amazing!" I replied. "Bad news is your mother didn't survive the birth." Chiron added. WHAT! Not another person too. I lost someone else. "So you get to name her and she's coming here to live with us." Chiron continued.
        I just sat there. "Ok. I'll name her Phoebe." I replied then left. I ran back to my cabin and slammed the door shut and burst into tears. I heard knocking on the door but I didn't answer. "Max?" A voice said, it was Emma. I didn't answer she can't see me like this. I just kept crying and she knocked again. The knocking stopped and I thought she left but then she opened the door. I thought I locked it, ugh. "Oh my gods Max! Are you ok?" She asked. I didn't answer.

        "Oh my gods Max! Are you ok?" I asked. He didn't answer so I walked over. I kept trying to get close but air kept pushing me back. "OH FOR THE LOVE OF ZEUS, LIGHT HEAD STOP THIS!" I yelled. He just kept crying but the air stopped pushing me back. I hate seeing him like this. I wonder what Chiron told him? I walked over and hugged him from behind. "What's wrong Max?" I asked. He just turned around and cried into my chest which is weird because he's taller. I hugged him tighter. "Max what's wrong?" I asked again. This time he looked at me. "I- my m- m- mom d- died." He stuttered.
        "Oh my gods that's horrible!" I said. I didn't pity him I bet he would hate that. I certainly would. When my dad died and I was left with my horrible stepmom and stepsister I hated the pity. I eventually ran away. On the roads I ran into my first monsters, I figured out who I was pretty quickly. It was confirmed when I was running and Athena claimed me. A few days after that I ran into Lucas who had lost his mother and was running away from social security. He had told me about being claimed too.
         I'm pretty sure it had been a month when Max and his mother found us. Apparently Max said there was this place called Camp Halfblood so that's how I ended up here. I was pretty close with Max's mom so this hurts me a lot too. "Didn't Chiron say there was good news?" I asked. "Oh yeah I have a sister named Phoebe now she's coming here." He replied his face brightening a bit. "That's great!" I said and he just nodded. Minutes went by and his crying lessened.
         "Hey thanks!" He interrupted. "For what?" I asked. "For being here and for not pitying me." He replied. "No problem!" I responded. "Can we not tell the anyone else?" He asked. "Like not even our friends." I asked. "Well maybe them in a little bit." He answered. "Ok whatever you want Light Head." I replied. He smiled a bit at his nickname which he pretended to hate at first.

        Emma saw me cry. I'm supposed to be this great heroic person and she saw me cry. Way to show I'm weak. "Max, you're not weak." Emma said. "Did I say that out loud?" I asked. "Yeah. Everyone cries Max it's normal." Emma said. I just hugged her and she hugged me back. Eventually she drifted to sleep so I set her down on my bed. I laid down for a moment and hugged her but I fell asleep too.
        "Guys? WHAT THE HADES!" I heard and woke up. "Huh?" I asked. "WHY ARE YOU SLEEPING WITH EMMA?" I heard so I looked up and saw Lucas. "What are you talking about?" I asked. "Look next to you!" Lucas said. I looked over and saw Emma waking up. "What's going on?" Emma said. "HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW! I JUST WALKED IN HERE AND SEE YOU GUYS SLEEPING TOGETHER!" Lucas yelled. "Oh I remember now." I said and Lucas turned to me. "We were hugging and Emma fell asleep so I put her on my bed. I then laid down to give her a hug and I must've fell asleep too." I said while blushing and Emma blushed too. "Oh my gods you guys! You're lucky it was me and not Chiron." Lucas said. "Yeah." I responded. "You know Max I hate you! You could've gotten me in trouble!" Emma yelled. I put a hand on my heart being offended. "You hate me?" I asked. "No, you idiot of course I don't. Your head is really just filled with light." Emma replied.
       "Alright you two that's enough flirting for today!" Lucas interrupted and Emma and I blushed. "We're not flirting we're arguing BIG difference!" Emma retorted. "Uh huh sure." Lucas responded. "Look who's flirting now." I added and Lucas' face went slack. Emma burst out laughing and high fived me.
        Lucas regained himself and said "Jokes on you, you both missed breakfast!" I groaned. "WHY WORLD! WHY MUST I MISS FOOD!" I yelled. Lucas just laughed then left saying "Two campers not from the same cabin can't be in a cabin together." and I blushed. "Don't worry Light Head I got food in my cabin!" She exclaimed. "YES!" I yelled.
        She got off the bed and walked to her cabin me following her. When we arrived the second in command stepped in our way. "Why did you two miss breakfast?" He asked. "Sorry about that. Max was telling me awesome news." She replied and whispered something in his ears. He immediately smiled. "Congrats man on your new sister! Can't wait to see her!" He said and walked away. "Nice save!" I said. "Oh it was nothing." She replied and we got some snacks.
        I was eating when there was a knock. Emma went to open the door. "Max's sister is here." I heard and realized it was Chiron. I walked over and Chiron eyed me. "Sorry I missed breakfast I was just telling Emma the news." I replied. "That doesn't take that long." He responded. "Both bits of news." I added and sniffled making it more believable. "Oh ok well come on then." He said and we followed him to the Big House.
       She was adorable! The cutest little thing ever. "Aww!" I heard Emma exclaim. "Hi there I'm Emma your brothers friend!" She cooed while holding Phoebe. She then handed her to me. "Hey little Phoebe! I'm your big brother! Aren't you the cutest little thing!" I cooed while stroking her cheek. She laughed.
       "Now I understand you need your sleep. So do I so I've decided that we switch her between us. Every other day she stays with you in your cabin and she stays with me the rest." Chiron interrupted. "Alright." I replied. "So do you want to take her tonight or tomorrow night?" Chiron asked. I had gotten a good sleep already so I decided on tonight.
