13: Jake

          When we left Lily was blushing. I tried to talk to her but she gave me short answers and blushed harder. I decided not to bother her. I couldn't help but wonder what she was blushing about?
         After a while I fell asleep. My dream from before continued. We were kissing at the bottom and suddenly a bunch of rocks fell from the top. I figured we were needed so Lily and I swam to the top of the water. "How long have you been down there?" Skylar asked. "Since training." I replied. "It's dinner time." She said and grinned. "Wow we've been kissing for a long time!" I said. "So that's all you did?" She asked and winked. "Yup!" Lily responded for me.
         We walked over to dinner and I sat at the Poseidon table. I had begged Skylar to write a note saying that if Lily feels lonely her Hades powers will act up. Eventually she wrote it and now I get to sit with her. I love having a friend from the Apollo cabin. Chiron figured out what we were doing and just allowed us all to sit at one of the big three tables together.
         "You two are unbelievable! You can't just stay at the bottom of the water where no one can reach you! What if there was an attack or something!" Emma explained. "You can reach us just throw rocks down." Lily replied nonchalantly. "Sometimes I wonder why I'm friends with you." Emma replied. "Because you love me and I love you." Lily answered. "No like a logical explanation." She said. "That is a logical explanation." Lily argued. "You're a descendant of Athena you should know that love is not logical." Emma argued back. "Yeah and?" Lily replied. "You knew this whole time and was just messing with me! Wow!" Emma responded. I just laughed.
          It was time for the campfire. Lily refused to sing and I kept bugging her to sing. "I sound horrible!" She whispered. "I bet you don't!" I whispered back. "Fine I'll sing for the last song!" She whispered and then slouched. When it was time for the last song she was really nervous. I laced my hand with hers and she eased a bit. Everyone started singing the last song then I nudged Lily so she could join in.
          She started singing and everyone turned towards her. "I told you I sound bad!" She whispered in my ear but then everyone started applauding. "No Lily you sound like the best person ever!" I replied when I finally regained myself. She just started blushing and looked down. "Let's hear it for Lily!" I yelled. "Stop it!" She said. "Aw am I embarrassing you!" I whispered. "No you could never embarrass me but I'm embarrassing myself." She whispered back. "No you're not!" I replied.
          On that good note the campfire ended. "You never told me you sounded so bad!" I teased. "Oh shut up!" She said. "Ok but why did you never tell me how good you sound?" I asked. "Because I thought I sounded bad! Ok?" She replied. "Ok!" I responded.
           We arrived at her cabin. "Hey I need to get my spear from your cabin. I left it there." I said. "You didn't leave your spear in my cabin!" She replied once I was inside. "I know!" I responded and smirked. "You little liar!" She yelled. "All's fair in love and war!" I replied and winked. "We're not at war Blood Boy!" She stated. Instead of responding I kicked the door shut and kissed her. She tried to say something but then didn't. I backed away as soon as she deepened the kiss. "
          You're such a tease." She replied. "Hey you're the one who didn't want me in your cabin!" I retorted. "I never said that I just said you're a liar!" She replied. "Oh Alright then." I said and walked over. Before I went to kiss her she slapped me. "Ow! What was that for?" I asked. "It's for teasing me! Now come here." She replied. She grabbed me by the collar and kissed me.
         "Jake wake up!" Lily's voice said and she was only a few inches from my face. "What the Pluto!" I said. She realized how close she was and backed away blushing. "Sorry you weren't waking up." She replied. "S'okay." I responded. "So why'd you wake me?" I asked. "I'm going to the Underworld." She said casually. "Wait what! Why?" I yelled. "Shh you're going to wake up Zizi!" She said. "Sorry but why are you going to the Underworld?" I asked. "To visit and because I need to ask my uncle something." She replied. "What do you need to ask?" I responded. "About Zizi you idiot!" She replied. "Oh right." I responded.
          "I'm going to be gone for two days. You guys should be able to handle it. If you need me I can't come but you can call my dad he's agreed to help you." She said. "Ok bye." I replied. "Bye." She said and kissed me on the check. I started blushing but I couldn't tell if she was because she melting into the shadows. Then she was gone.
           She kissed me? Well it wasn't a real kiss. Still she kissed me. Does she like me too? I need to ignore it and follow the sand. I can't get off course that would be embarrassing especially if we have something to follow. I'll wait a few hours then I'll wake up Zizi.
          Why do I dream so much of Lily? Does she dream of me too? Oh my gods this stuff is so confusing. Why can't there be a like a light that pops up if a person likes you too. Venus if you can hear me please help. A word of advice never pray to Cupid. NEVER EVER he is evil.
          I heard that a son of Hades almost died or something like that because of him. I mean like pray you never meet him. In American culture he's like this adorable baby that everyone loves but he is evil. Like super evil at least that's what the demigods that survived him say.
         I need to focus on the sand. We are already facing away a little. This is harder than it looks. How does Lily do it. I guess because she's a daughter of Poseidon but you know it's not fair. Wait a minute can't I just turn into an animal and pull the boat? Yup that's a way batter idea.
       I need to tie the ropes quick. Ok air creature or water creature? Well the only thing that's strong enough to pull the ship as a air creature is a dragon and that takes up a lot of energy. Sea lion is good I think or a walrus. Sea lion I think.
      Wait I didn't think this through how am I supposed to attach this too myself with no arms. Wait these stretch so if I tie it around me now them when I become a sea lion it can stretch. I start tying it around me but I keep messing up.
      "Finally!" I muttered. I jumped to port. As I was leaping into the water I changed. Please don't snap. Please don't snap. Oh my gods thank Poseidon they didn't break. Ok now to get back on course. This is much easier than steering. Why didn't I think of this sooner.
       Probably because you were thinking about Lily my subconscious replied. No I responded. Ok whatever you want to believe it replied. Thank you I said. I bet you can't wait to show off when she comes back it said after a while. Please shut the Pluto up.
