The ground wobbled as her feet hit the ground despite her job it had been a long time since she had run this fast, the fog in the wood had grown thicker as they had tried to escape, it had been reluctant to let them go, but neither Ava nor Quinn were at all keen to stay.
Dodging endless trees and uneven earth mounds they finally had made it from the trees and out into the open, the sky cut an ominous figure, a giant grey crack cut across the horizon as lighter shades of grey bled out into the white fluffy clouds.
Whether there was anyone chasing them they had no idea, and stopping to check was not on their list of things they wanted to do, they were speedily making their way into the hotel.
Ava wanted to. make sure Lena was okay and Quinn just wanted Sara and Alex to.make everything okay again, hearing such awful words from her grandfather had put her in a very bad place.
"Woo her you said! Woo her well I tried!" Ava breathed out as she ran trying to catch up to Quinn who was proving to be significantly faster than her as they fled the ominous haunted grizzly forest.
" Will you shut up we have more important things to deal with right now. "
"There I was just about to...well you know and suddenly her father is there, it was like a nightmare."
" Shut up and move your feet! " Quinn yelled.
"Hey, I'm still your boss," Ava shouted at her back in reply.
"Yeah, yeah."
Suddenly after what seemed like an eternity, the vast doorways came into sight, Quinn wasted no time barging through the door bracing herself again s t it as she waited for Ava to pass by and then slam it shut, pressing her back against the door and finally trying to catch her breath.
Ava bent over her hands on her knees did the same.
A bustle of activity occurred when suddenly Alex and Sara marched firmly into the hall, both eyes set to worried overprotective girlfriend mode. "What the hell happened?" Sara asked fiercely.
"Some crazy crap." Ava heaved as Quinn nodded in agreement.
" Crazy crap for us can mean so many things mouthy. " Mick commented as he walked towards them a huge box of pizza in his hands as he ate from it.
"Are you eating pizza?"
" I was hungry. " He shrugged.
Quinn blinked hard, was he insane now wasn't the time for eating. "There are fucked up phantoms out there and you are head first in a box of pizza."
" Triple meat feast. " He grinned happily.
"Why do we keep him around? Why what use is he?" Quinn asked everyone just as Lena's heels sounded out loud.
She rushed towards Ava alarmed at seeing her crouched over. " Okay? "
"Just fine we met Quinn's Grandfather, it seems like a day for asshole patriarchs."
Quinn shook her head. "No my grandfather was never like that, I don't understand why he said the things he did? and why would he be here?"
" Do you believe me now about Adeline? " Sara asked smugly.
Alex placed a hand on her shoulder, this wasn't the time for another battle between them. "Has anyone noticed where the staff went to?"
" OMG the whole freaking place and is haunted run by ghosts! " Quinn shouted out, no wonder the woman had not been sweating she didn't have a fucking physical body to sweat.
A chilling silence cut across them as they looked to each other the haunting echo of the moaning wind outside the only sound.
Lena stepped closer to Ava, the blonde woman wrapped her protectively arms around her to hold her close.
