jonah's pov:

when i found out that brooke went missing, i panicked. i quickly headed in my car, and drove around LA.

i hate whenever brooke is sad, because it makes me sad as well.

i started to think of the possible places that brooke could have went. but, the only reasonable place is santa monica pier.

i got out of my car, and started walking down the boardwalk.

where is she?

-

i looked to my left, and i saw a familiar face. brooke was sitting on the sand, watching the sunset.

"hey! why'd you run off?" i asked, running up to brooke.

she definitely seemed shocked to see me, "oh, jonah, how'd you find me?"

"daniel told us that you ran away," i mentioned, sitting next to brooke.

"oh, yeah, i used to run away a lot. it was never for a long time, just a few hours to clear my mind," brooke explained.

i nodded my head.

then, out of nowhere, i blurted out, "i broke up with lia."

"i thought you guys were never dating," brooke pointed out.

"well, yeah, but lia wouldn't understand, so i had to officially cut it off," i explained.

"oh, wow, that was pretty brave of you, jonah," brooke said.

"thanks," i replied.

"wait, why did you break up with her?" brooke asked.

"i have someone else in mind," i said.

brooke nodded her head, and then we decided to head back to the house.

when we walked in, daniel swarmed brooke with hugs.

"gosh, you scared me," daniel said, hugging his sister.

"dani, i always used to run off," brooke laughed.

"we were all so worried," daniel added.

"i mean, to be honest, i knew she would be fine," zach joined in, shrugging.

daniel rolled his eyes.

"okay, i'm going to go back to my room now. let me know if you guys need anything," i excused myself.

i gave brooke a small hug, and headed upstairs.

-

later, i heard a knock at my door.

"come in," i declared.

it was corbyn.

"corbyn, what do you need?" i asked.

"we need to talk," corbyn stated, sitting on my bed.

"about what?" i inquired.

"your crush on brooke!" corbyn whisper-shouted.

"uh, there's no such thing," i denied.

but i knew i was lying.

"it's so obvious you like her. trust me, i bet zach knows, and zach's the dumb one," corbyn chuckled.

"okay, fine, i do like her a little bit. but, it's just a small crush. it's going to go away," i added.

"yeah, it's definitely not going to just evaporate into thin air. you love her," corbyn declared.

"i do not," i denied.

"you say that now, but one day, you're going to believe it," corbyn stated, leaving my room.
