ten ☆ jonah's girlfriend

narrator's pov:

"jonah, who's this?" brooke asked.

"oh, this is lia. my..." jonah started, but ended up trailing off.

"girlfriend. i'm his girlfriend," lia stated.

"oh, jonah, you never told me you had a girlfriend," brooke mentioned.

"i didn't think it was necessary," jonah said.

the conversation began to become dry.

"well, i'll be going now. it was great to see you jo, nice meeting you too..." lia declared.

"brooke. my name is brooke," brooke sighed, finishing lia's sentence.

lia waved goodbye, and headed out.

the car ride back to the house was awkward. nobody played music, and the two just sat there in the silence. they didn't speak to each other, or even look at each other.

except jonah, who took glances at brooke every so often.

when they arrived, jonah parked the car. he opened the door for brooke, and followed her inside. brooke headed straight to her room, and didn't take a look at any of the guys who were sitting on the couch.

"what's up with her?" daniel asked.

"nothing, why?" jonah asked back.

"she just seemed kind of weird," zach mentioned.

"she's fine," jonah declared.

daniel didn't believe anything that jonah said, and he headed straight to brooke's room.

brooke was sitting on her bed, looking down at the floor.

"are you okay?" daniel asked.

quickly, brooke put on a smile, and replied, "yeah, i'm fine, why?"

"you didn't say hi to any of us when you came in," daniel continued, sitting next to brooke on her bed.

"i'm just kind of tired," brooke lied.

"you know you can tell me anything, right?" daniel asked, making brooke face him.

brooke nodded, and said, "i know, dani."

"well, i still think you're lying to me, but i'll let it go for now. we're family, brooke, and if something is bothering you, then you need to let me know as soon as possible," daniel declared.

"okay. i love you, dani, you know that? you're a great brother," brooke said.

"of course i know. i love you, too," daniel stated, giving brooke a hug.

she returned the hug, and daniel left her room.
