twenty-one ☆ virginity

narrator's pov:

at around two in the morning, jonah came dashing into brooke's room.

"jonah marais roth frantzich, i swear, the more you barge into my room in the middle of the night gives me more of an urge to kick you in the shin!" brooke whisper-shouted.

"whoa, that came out of nowhere," jonah shrieked.

"just kidding, i love you," brooke teased.

"i love you, but in a different way," jonah mumbled.

"what did you say?" brooke asked.

"oh, nothing," jonah lied, "i was wondering if you wanted to come up on the roof with me?"

"sure," brooke replied, getting out of bed.

"jonah?" brooke asked, lifting her head off his shoulder to make direct eye contact with him.

"yeah?" jonah responded.

"summer is coming to an end. i'm only going to be here in LA for a few more weeks, then i'm back to portland. i don't want to leave you guys," brooke sighed.

"don't worry, brooke, we'll still talk all the time," jonah replied, "and whenever we tour, i'll always visit you in portland."

brooke nodded her head, and leaned back on jonah's shoulder.

"hey, wait a minute..." brooke said.

"what?" jonah asked.

"you still have my bralette," brooke huffed.

"oh yeah, and you're never getting it back," jonah teased.

"hmm, we'll see how that goes," brooke said.

the next day...

brooke headed down to the kitchen table. she put down her bowl of cereal, sat in front of jonah, and gave him a glare.

"yeesh, what's up with you, brooke?" zach asked, eating his cereal.

"jonah has something that's mine," brooke declared, death-staring jonah.

jonah laughed.

"what, your virginity?" jack asked.

when those words escaped jack's mouth, brooke immediately choked on her cereal, and jonah spit out his coffee.

"whoa, are you guys good?" zach inquired.

"y-yeah, totally," brooke replied, cleaning up her and jonah's mess with some paper towels, "he just has a piece of clothing that belongs to me."

"what, your lace underwear that he ripped off of you last night?" jack teased.

"JACK!" brooke shouted, choking on cereal once again.

"one, that's not true, and two, how do you even come up with these theories?" jonah asked.

jack and zach started to laugh, and brooke rolled her eyes.
