"Sam?" A male voice called, and I spun around in the stool.

"Hi Chad..." I replied bleakly.

"You alright?"

I nodded. "Thanks for the help back there."

Liam took a shot next to me. He really meant it when he said he would not leave me to fend for myself.

Chad nodded in Liam's direction. "Hey man."

Liam returned the gesture.

"Sam..." Chad pleaded. "Please forgive me for abandoning you when you needed me."

I exhaled sharply. "You were there tonight, weren't you?"

A grin slowly formed on his face as he flung his arms around me, and pulled me face first into his chest.

"Hell yes!" He swung me back and forth. "I got my best friend back!"

"Not if you keep suffocating her." I grumbled with a muffled voice.

"Oh right." He released me hastily. "Sorry..."

"I didn't say I didn't like it." I smiled at him.

"Hey Chad....!" A voice interrupted.

I looked over to see Jill with her arm wrapped in Taylor's arm.

"When did they get hitched?" I asked, basically to myself.

"A week ago...." Chad explained to me through the side of his mouth.

Jill skipped joyfully over to us. "Hey Sam," She smiled. "Really good job putting Emma in her place..."

"Thank you." I rose my plastic cup filled with water to her.

"Want a shot?" Liam asked as he slid a green shot glass over to me.

I shook my head.

"Aw, why not?" Jill pouted, and grabbed another glass, pouring the tequila in.

"Tequila makes my clothes fall off." I stated stupidly.

Taylor rolled his eyes. "Tequila makes everyone woman's clothing fall off."

"Touché." I pursued my lips. "Plus Sean is probably drinking, and I'd like to go home tonight."

"We will make sure you get home safely." Liam said stiffly.

"Come on!" Jill chirped. "This can be our reunited toast!"

"Since when are we friends again?" I raised an eyebrow, and made a face at her.

"Since now," She insisted with a shrug. "I just heard some bullshit rumors from Emma that you talked badly about me behind my back, but now I realize I should have known better than that. I'm sorry Sam."

"It's alright." I stifled a sigh.

"Yeah, I'm sorry too." Taylor added.

I pointed at Jill with my thumb. "Same thing I told her."

"I'm sure Jack's sorry too." Chad chided, dubious, "He's just too far up Emma's ass to say anything."

"Who is that fire crotch she is with?" I asked.

"Paul?" Taylor asked.

"Yes." I confirmed.

"Oh, that's Emma's f-ck buddy." He shrugged one shoulder stiffly, and rolled his eyes up, uncaring. "She acts like she has feelings for him, but overall – it's to make Sean jealous."
