Playing Match Maker
Oh my goodness, I never thought I'd be able to say I had fun moving here from California, but I was wrong. Harley and Jessica are some amazing friends who are definitely helping me enjoy my time.
They're really funny and goofy and their sense of humor kills me. We talked a lot about everybody at the school. They told me who to and not to associate myself with. Harry and Louis were the first on the Not To list, but it seems I'm a little too late for that.
Then we talked about the hot guys in school. Well, they did. I don't know much people here just yet.
Just hanging out with them and having a good time made me miss Michelle even more. I had to talk to her somehow.
On the walk up the driveway, I pulled my phone out and held down the one on the screen and speed dialed my best friend. She picked up after the second ring.
"Babe!" she squealed into the receiver. "Did you die or something?"
I laughed, standing in the middle of the driveway. This is the girl I love so much. "A lot of stressful things and it's only been a week."
"Damn, babe. I wish I was there with you."
"Yeah," I nodded, looking around the driveway, eyeing the other houses. Just trying to get a feel of my surroundings. "I wish you were too. I miss you and it's just strange, me being on my own with Justin."
"How is the little guy?"
"He's cool. He likes Harry so I guess it's a bonus."
"Yeah. And school?" she asked. I could hear shuffling on the other end. She could never stay still while on the phone with people. Her hands had to be doing something.
"School's school. I met two girls who are awesome."
"Even more awesome than me?" I could just imagine her raising an eyebrow and putting her hand on her hip.
"Of course not chick," I say, sitting on the front porch, staring at the house across the street. "But they help make this place durable."
"Definitely understandable. Are you at least having some kind of fun?" she asked from the other end.
"Let me catch you up."
Michelle and I talked for a bit longer before her mom told her to start her homework before she took her phone away. I laughed and we exchanged an I love you and hung up.
After we had our brief goodbye, I took a deep breath, going inside. I could hear voices coming from the family room. I walked to the doorway and looked. Justin was sitting on the floor playing with his stuffed Nemo and some toy cars.
However, my attention turned to Louis. He sat quietly on the couch, watching Justin closely. His chin sat in his left hand as his elbow rested on his thigh. He had seemed so engrossed in the watching.
I slowly stepped back before turning and heading towards the stairs, my backpack still on my back. It was rather empty. Thank God I didn't have homework today. I just plan to go and chill. But first, I have to get Justin in the bath.
I threw my book bag on the floor in the room I was currently residing in, then marched downstairs and back to the living room.
"Alright, Mr. time for your bath," I say, entering the living room. Louis immediately looked up from the little boy on the floor.
"But I don't wanna," Justin whined, pouting his lip at me.
"It'll be quick. I'll even read you a story," I offered, looking down at the little boy who remained on the floor.
