Jasmine jumped back into a dusty, damp room. She was soaked, the dirt sticking to her face and arms. She suppressed a sneeze, not wanting to make noise.

Tony jumped in after her, landing on his feet. He looked around, nervously.

"What is it?" She asked, her anxiety rising.

"We need something to defend us," he replied, as PJ made his way inside.

"They have guns!" She said "How can we defend ourselves against that?"

"We have to hide," PJ said as the men's laughter began again. "They'll be checking all the rooms on this floor."

Jasmine looked around. The room had more furniture than the last room they were in. There was a large round table, with a few broken wooden chairs scattered around. Filing cabinets lined the wall, a dark green blanked sprawled over some.

"I'll hide behind the desk." PJ said. "Just trust me guys."

"Okay," she said, running towards the cabinets. She squeezed herself between one, trying to control the urge to sneeze.

She could barley see, but she saw Tony hide under the sofa in front of her. He looked at her and gave her a thumbs up. She bit her lip trying to relax.

Her body was shaking. The side of her head was throbbing, her left eye pulsing. Why had she ever agreed to this stupid thing?
She closed her eyes, trying to think of anything to calm her down...

"Girls can't ride," Bradley told her as she examined his skateboard.

"I'm sure they can," she said. "Just because we haven't seen one, doesn't mean they aren't around."

"That would be the day," he laughed. "I'm the king baby, ain't no way there'll be a girl rider that can catch my attention. These are the X-Games. It's a whole 'nother world."

She walked away from his board, which was propped up on display at the Gamma House.

"You'll learn, darling. This is your first year." He said to her. "I run this campus."

"Huh," she said, knowing all too well who he was. "I saw a kid ride by me earlier."

"Yeah? And?" Bradley asked, bored.

Jasmine remembered the guy's red shirt, the way his friends trailed behind him on their skateboards. He had looked so confident, and something about him gave Jasmine the chills. "He was so cool."

Bradley turned to look at her. She knew he knew. Everyone was talking about this new freshman.

"Well, I have yet to see him," he lied. "If he was good, he'd be a Gamma."

"Will you let him join?" She asked, curious.

"Hmm, you know, maybe I should." Bradley said. "It'll keep people from talking about him."

Jasmine opened her eyes. Why had she thought back to that day?

Bradley and Max always seemed to be lurking in her thoughts, never leaving her alone. But why? Was it because she wasn't truly over them? Did she still love them despite them not loving her?

Her attention was shifted towards the door, which banged hard against the wall as it was thrown open. She had bit down hard on the inside of her cheek to keep from making noise. She could taste the blood that was now trickling down her throat. She swallowed, afraid.
