It's Complicated

Chapter 24:

***Matthew's P.O.V.***

While we were kissing a sudden thought floated into my head. I slowly pulled back and blinked a few times. Alex looked a little stunned at the fact that I used pulled away from the kiss. "Does this mean we're together again?" I asked in a hushed tone.

"I don't know." Alex sighed.

Now I'm starting to get mad, is she just toying with me until someone better comes along? "Am I just your toy? Is our relationship a game? Are you just using me until someone better comes along? Am I not good enough?" I asked through gritted teeth, not wanting to raise my voice with her. She looked taken back, but she stood her ground.

"No Matthew. I'm not playing with you, you're enough for me. You can do some much better than me, yet you keep coming back. Why?" She replied, her voice shaking a little bit.

"I keep coming back because I love you Alex. It's gotta be you Alex, and nobody else." I whispered back to her, while drawing circles in the sand.

"I love you too Matthew." Alex said in a barely audible tone. But I heard it, those three words were the ones that made my heart leap out of my chest, and all the butterflies in my stomach flutter. It was those three words that got us here today. And it will be those three words that get us back together. Without think I slammed my lips into hers, it was one of the most passionate kisses we've ever shared. It was full of want and need, but mostly love. This was the kiss that signified I am hers and she is mine. "Alex, will you be my girlfriend?" I nervously asked her. She didn't say anything but just pushed me down into the sand and we laid down and watched the sunset and moon rise, together.
