It's Complicated

Chapter 26:

***Alex's P.O.V.***

I grabbed my bag from the floor that had my clothes I came to work in and waltzed back out the door. "Looking good boss!" Kylie Khole,my new apprentice called from the hallway. I smiled appreciatively at her and gave her a small wink before I walked out the restaurant. I was wearing a loose grey mullet dress with a brown belt and brown TOMS. Matt had on grey slacks with a white button down with his sleeves rolled up to just below his elbow showing of his tattoos. With a grey bowtie and black oxfords. I walked out and Matthew's mouth hung open when he saw me. "Close your mouth, you'll catch flys love" I announced before climbing into the grey coupe BMW, Matt picked out for this event. He got into the drives seat and turned on the engine.

"How was work babe?" Matthew asked as we drove to Violet's art show.

"It was amazing, you have to meet my new apprentice Kylie. She is the cutest. She's like two inches shorter than me and she has the prettiest grey eyes and really long brown hair and she's really really slim. And she's a great cook too. I can tell she's gonna learn well." I gushed on and on about my new apprentice and Matthew just nodded his head excitedly. Before I knew it we were getting out the car and walking into the showcase.  I immediately spotted Violet but she was chatting with these two girls that looked exactly alike except for certain features. Wait I know them. "Babe look its the Rodriguez sisters. I think they wanna buy one of Violet's paintings." I whispered loudly. Matthew just nodded his head understandingly and went to work his mingling magic. This guy who was about 5'7, with the most beautiful brown eyes and short black hair, and a somewhat muscular figure began approaching me. "Hey I'm Ronaldo Ortega, I'm Violet's apprentice. Can I interest you in one of her paintings?" He asked. He had a light  accent, but I couldn't tell where it was from.

"Sure. Why don't you show me your favorite and I'll get my boyfriend to buy it for his apartment?" I said with a grin on my face. Ronaldo's grin grew wider as he walked me over to a painting that Violet has told me about. It's the one based off of Matthew and me, at the beach. You can't tell it's us because you can only see the back of them. But you see two people laying down next to each other on the beach and the guy is pointing up at the stars in the sky. "How much do you want for it?" I asked in awe.

"How much are you willing to offer?" Ronaldo questioned.

"You're still in school right? How much is your tuition?" I asked with an eyebrow raised.

"I'm not allowed to say. But it's around $24,000." He whispered.

"Then I'll give you $30,000 for it." I announced while reaching into my bag and grabbing my check book.

"30,000?! I can't accept this. You can't!!" Ronaldo stammered out.

"Oh but I can. And it's for you to get money out of the way and learn. Violet is a very great artist and an amazing teacher." I said while handing him the check.

"Thank you very much Miss.  You've saved me and my family money and worries." He stuttered out as he gazed at the check.

"No problem Ronaldo. Stay cute." I winked at him before walking off to find Matthew.
