Reading Together- Castiel x Reader

You sat down on the couch with a cup of tea and a book in your hands. It had been a hard week of hunting. Both Sam and Dean had gotten hurt pretty seriously, and you had quite a few cuts and bruises yourself. The boys were in their rooms sleeping it off, so it was just you in the room. You set your tea down and opened your book.

About a half hour later, you heard the flutter of wings. You tensed, but relaxed when you realized it was just Castiel. "Hey Cas." You greeted. It's been a few weeks. What's up?" He looked tired for an angel. There were dark circles under his eyes and his hair was messier than usual.
"Putting Heaven back together is a lot more work than I thought it would be. I missed you guys and I needed a break. So here I am." He sat down next to you. "What are you reading?" Castiel asked.
"The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes." You answered. He nodded his head in approval, having heard about the popularity of the book.

"Read to me?" He asked. You were surprised by his request.
"I don't know, Cas..." He imitated Sam's puppy dog eyes. Ican'tsaynotothat, you thought, and gave in. "Alright..." The angel smiled and cuddled up next to you as you began to read.

"To Sherlock Holmes she is always the woman. I have seldom heard him mention her under any other name. In his eyes she eclipses and predominates the whole of her sex. It was not that he felt any emotion akin to love for Irene Adler..."

After you finished reading, you looked over to find Castiel with his eyes closed. You knew he wasn't actually asleep. He was an angel after all. Smiling, you kissed him on the forehead and pulled a blanket over the two of you so you could rest.
