Her mind was a blur from the moment she entered the small clinic with her mother accompanying her to the moment the procedure started. She looked at the walls and they were filled with images of fetuses as if she was in a biology class. She stopped for a second and thought that the same thing was growing in her body and in a few minutes it would be no more. It was as if her mother heard her train of thought.

"It's just a bunch of cells you're getting rid of. That thing growing in your stomach is no bigger than an eyebrow."

That however did not ease things it just increased the speed of her pulse. Her mother went to fill the paper work and she was left in the waiting area reading through a magazine.

There were two common ways to kill a baby or as her mother called it, get rid of cells. The first one involved taking pills that stopped the hormones in-charge of nourishing the baby and another pill that induced crumping. The other one included sharp needles and a sanction. Olivia gasped with trepidation. Knowing her luck she would be getting the needles and the sanction pump.

"Don't look at that."

Her mother hobbled to the waiting area and snatched the magazine away from her hands. She did not see her coming nor hear what she had said because of the ringing in her head. She only felt the magazine fly off her hands. She did not even hear the nurse calling her name, it was her mother who nudged her and mouthed something in the lines of,

"They're ready for you."

The doctor was a middle aged man in a white lab coat, blue shirt, black pants and brown shoes. His face sagged making him look older than he was. He did not look anxious or calm, cheerful nor sad, he had a face that looked like it had seen things that it shouldn't have. Olivia thought he had a face that spoke of death.

The first thing he did was explain the two procedures. "The pill route will be harder on your body so we will go the sanction way which will be easier on you, understood?"

Olivia did not remember saying yes or no.

"I will put you on anesthesia, you will feel drowsy but when you wake up it will all be over and you can go back to your life."

She dozed of while something cold opened up her vagina and then she was in another world. This world did not have anesthesia and she could feel someone tearing her cervix open with a knife and then going on to stub her baby multiple times with a thousand daggers. She woke up with a screeching scream.

"Stop. Stop. Don't touch my baby, don't touch it."

"Relax, Olivia, it's all over now," the doctor said the look of death on his face having heightened.

She looked at him with a pleading face as if asking, "What have you done?" the doctor had seen that face many times and he had become immune to it. Olivia fell back to her pillow, softly and felt a big scar open up in her.
