After her mom shut the door Olivia got up from the couch and jumped into the shower. She opened the faucet while fully dressed and let the water run over her. It soaked her hair and her clothes and she just stood there. Her hands languidly on her side as if they were not her own. She listened to the water pouring and pouring and pouring then all of a sudden it stopped and everything around her became pitch black.

She was taking her kid to school. It was her first day. "Zawadi, Zawadi," she had herself call out. "You have forgotten your lunchbox." She had named her Zawadi after her husband refused to play ball. It was a Kiswahili name that meant 'gift'

The kid came running.

"Thank you mom, I love you."

"I love you too," she said kissing her on the cheek and feeling a warmth explode in her that she had never felt before.

She watched her disappear behind the gate of the school and she was left with an immense loneliness and longing. No, she would go to school with her and keep her company she decided. She entered the gate and went to her class but she wasn't there.

"Where is Zawadi?" she screamed at no one in particular.

"Where the hell is my daughter." The teacher and students just gazed at her as if she was made of stone.

She run out screaming, "Zawadi, Zawadi, Zawadi. "

She got out of the gate and saw her but she wasn't alone the doctor held her hand and they started walking away.

"Don't," she screamed while running but her running was no much for their walking.

"Don't," her lungs grew sore as they disappeared into the horizon.

"Don't," she screamed hoarsely. She was back in their house warm water running on her already soaked clothes.
