Detective Rico

Rico Loco was what his friends called him because once he put his mind into something it haunted him until he cracked it. He started by following the scent of mama Wairimu from way back to the days of Olivia's abortion. The surveillance camera in the waiting room told him that the decision was not Olivias.

The second thing he did was follow Mama Wairimus purchasing receipts, they were littered with bottles of wine. "You belong in rehab not at the head of a company," he thought while looking at transactions with huge chunks of money sent from her account to her son. 'A suppressed woman who saw her son as her get away free card.' Rico scratched his head.

Next up he followed Fred's scent. The scent led him to the doorstep of his druggie tendencies. A smart boy who had fallen victim to poor parenting. But Wairimu had fallen victim to the same yet she had turned out different. He concluded that it was a lack of resolve.

He followed the scent further into the backyard of Josh and his bandits. They were still running rings of drugs around the city. He put their photos on his case file. He had a feeling they were connected to this. Which was fitting because after the dust settled he did not plan to leave them on the streets terrorizing good citizens.

After he was done sniffing Fred's scent he pulled up Nairobi hospitals files. His clearance allowed him to get a hold of their surveillance cameras but there was nothing.

One minute Mzee Ajabu was breathing through a life support machine then there was a loop that an untrained eye couldn't see and finally he lay un-moving. Rico knew that the loop wouldn't hold water as false play in a court of law.

He paced in his office looking at the picture's pinned on the wall. Josh, Fred, Mama Wairimu, Wairimu, Olivia. He concluded that the people with the most to gain from this were Fred and his mother and removed Wairimu and Olivia from the equation.

He paced again and decided that someone was missing from his file. He looked at the documentation with the doctors hand that had signed off Mzee Ajabus death as a result of a comma and decided to pay the good doctor a visit.
