Mzee Ajabu was in white sneakers, khaki trousers and a polo shirt. He did not dress that way often, only once or twice a month when he went golfing with corporate honchos at Muthaiga golf club. But today was a special occasion. She wanted to impress Diana, show her that he could also be hip. Age after all was nothing but a number.
The dark Uber Lux, Volkswagen Passat parked at Wilson airport and Diana got out. She was in sandals and a flimsy see through ochre lace dress. Her thick braids flowed as she approached Mzee Ajabu, she looked in every sense like a spoilt tycoons daughter.
"I have really missed you," she said with a honey glazed voice as if they were not together that very morning.
Mzee Ajabu loins jumped as if he was a high school boy. His face flashed pink after Diana placed a soft kiss on his leather hard skin.
"Are you ready for Dubai?" he whispered holding her waist and pulling her closer.
"I was born ready."
The Uber driver was getting Diana's bags out of the boot. All four of them. Humongous and heavy. As if she were going camping for a year instead of a holiday for a week. The pilot made a signal to one of the flight attendants and he ran and dragged the bags inside the private jet.
It was set up to resemble a restaurant lounge, it wasn't Diana's first time inside it but every time she got into the Gulfstream she forgot she was in an airplane. It looked like a restaurant complete with a lounge area and a mini bar.
They sat hunched together as if they needed each other for oxygen. Another air hostess served sparkling wine to the lovebirds who looked every much like father and daughter.
The door to the G550 closed and the Gulfstream started turning. Slowly at first till it's head faced the runaway and then it started galloping and within seconds they were airborne, toasting, giggling and laughing, 'This is what wealth is all about," Mzee Ajabu thought while they watched the sun set forty thousand feet above the sky.
