"The 'Virus' that spread across the world wasn't an accident. It was Addy. She didn't know that she could do that. Her emotions got the best of her and she exploded." Kayden stood, her eyes closed and a hand over her mouth. She took a deep breath but said nothing. "Her mother made her do it. She made her explode. And worse, her classmates also caused it. They hurt her. They all did in some kind of way." I wiped my tears and stood up. "When she exploded she released several deadly monsters. One of them is with the witches..."
Kayden's eyes opened and found me. They were black but the iris was different shades of blue. It looked like stained glass. "Well, we need to find a way to stop Addy from destroying everyone and herself."
I got an idea and grabbed her hand "Come on I think I know a place that has a book about Mortvita." I turned into my wolf form and signaled for Kayden to get on my back. She hesitated for a moment but does it anyway. I ran as fast as I could back to the warehouse.
(Later)
I threw myself on the floor exhausted from all the running.
Kayden sat a few feet away, blinking. "Well, that was a first." She looked around and smirked. She whistled sharply and a small figure appeared in front of her. It was about a foot tall and a blue cloak covered its body. "This is Nettie. I'm sure she'll be somewhat helpful." She looked proud and picked Nettie up, putting her on her shoulder. Kayden held a hand out to me. "Come on. We can't waste any time."
I turned human and took the hand. We were walking to the library and then we stopped in front of a sleeping Addy. She was curled up beside Justin's door.
"Ummm." I was really confused.
Kayden sighed. "We need to hurry." She patted Addy's Head lightly resulting in Addy nuzzling her hand. "Let's keep moving." She strode off before I could say anything.
We made it to the library. I opened the door to the Shadow Library. The only people who have access here is me and Ve.
Kayden leaned against the wall next to the door. "I'll wait. I don't need my other life wasted by Veronica," she said, leaning her head back. Nettie still sat solemnly on her shoulder.
I went downstairs to the secret basement and grabbed the Book Of Mortvitas. I quickly came back up and gave Kayden the book. "Page 7 Paragraph 3-5. That chapter holds the most information." The book shimmered, an illusion falling over it for those who may walk in.
She opened the book and skimmed the pages. The silence became unsettling. "It says here that Mortvitas are dangerous creatures that can explode and kill everyone. The only way to stop it is keeping it calm," she said, yawning. "Simple enough." She closed the book and handed it back to me. "Right?" She sighed and looked uncertain of her own words.
"...Well, Addy is a very emotional person..."
"It all depends on the situation she's in. Don't put her in situations where she can be scary," she said, yawning again.
"You're right." I stretched and popped as many bones as possible. "We need to go back to training and doing missions. The other warehouses are getting stronger and they can easily dominate us. And now that the witches know what warehouse we're in, there is a likely chance they will attempt to capture us."
Kayden nodded in agreement. "I haven't perfected a few things that could be helpful in tight situations. Especially against witches. I think I also need to fix my rank four poison so I don't go on a killing spree." She blinked calmly at this and shrugged. "Oh well. We can get started on that tomorrow."
Her head snapped to the side, her nose scrunching up in disgust. "Do you smell that?" I sniffed the air and smelt...something that I couldn't quite identify. "Weird. I typically can identify things with the scent but this smell is unidentifiable" I tried my best to identify it. Kayden transformed into a purple and silver fawn, Nettie on her back. She sprinted down the hall, possibly knowing the source. She disappeared as she turned down the hallway. I sighed and went to check on everyone in the warehouse.
Addy's pov.
I woke and I didn't feel myself... my throat felt like sandpaper. Am I sick? I growled as I tried to stand. Why was I in front of Justin's door? Why is there a plate of half-eaten chicken strips? I am so con- Oh yeah...The prank...I don't regret it. I stood up with the plate of strips and walked to the kitchen. I saw a small forest green bunny sitting on the counter. "AWWWWW YOU'RE SO CUTE!" I picked it up and put in on my head. It squeaked and I washed the plate after throwing away the moldy food. The bunny hopped off of my head and turned human. When it did small flowers appeared around it. I looked up to see a tired Alex. "Seriously? I was trying to get to the Mac and cheese. I'm glad I found you though. Ve told me to tell you that training and missions are back on next week. She also said that you're off punishment if you do good in training." I nodded, happy that I'll be able to kill if I do good. "Thanks for letting me know." I kissed their cheek as a thank you and went outside. If we're going to train tomorrow then I need to start perfecting my flying skills. I let my wings stretch out and I lightly flapped them. I noticed that my feathers are slowly growing back. I smiled at this.
I flapped my wings and flew to a tall tree in the forest. I looked down from it as the sun was setting. I breathed in and suddenly heard a voice. The sunset is really nice. Logan... "Yeah it is isn't it?" I said out loud, thinking that no one was around. I got bored after watching the sunset. I walked off the tree and fell head first. I felt myself falling. The wind whipped in my face as I fell faster and faster. I looked down and the ground was coming closer and closer. I opened my wings and I fell at top speed. When I was close enough I move my wings up and gilded close to the ground. I glided across the forest and watched all the elves and fairies at work. This forest is called the Mythic Forest for a reason. I landed on the ground near the headquarters.
People were already there. They were watching an outdoor movie. I saw my group. Alex, Justin, Levi, and Kayden, who looked unamused. I laughed lightly knowing Kayden hates outdoor movies. Ve probably made her go. I snuck up behind them and smirked. "Missed me?" Kayden was the first to turn around. She tried to tackle me. "Saveee meeee there are spiders everywhere! And it's cold! I was forced to come out here before I could grab a jacket." She huffed, shivering. I giggled and hugged her. I wrapped my wings around her so she could warm up. Justin pat my head and Alex just slept. Levi was actually watching the movie. I snapped and Alex was laying on my thigh with a blanket over them. Justin moved closer to me and I put my head on his shoulder. He put his head on mine and we sat and watched the movie. Levi was just...Levi? Kayden fell asleep within seconds. Something blue glittered next to her hand but when I looked over at it, nothing was there. I felt something lay on my other thigh. It was Vincent. I smiled slightly. This is my family. And nothing will change that. Apart from the fact that Ve took a picture of us asleep on each other.
