Chapter 14

(A/N I and Kayden are done with the first chapter of the new book. The book is called Zena. You might want to read it. A lot of the info about the species is on there. Also, there is a new character and it's my meme boi favorite boi.)

Addy's Pov

The last test ended and I was still sitting in the back. I saw Kayden and Vincent walking toward the gate. Justin looked over me and I suddenly felt Bloodlust. I wanted to kill. I heard a small scream and Kayden looked around, scared of something. Or everything. She looked shaken up about something. I weirdly like the fear in her eyes. No stop thinking like that. She's your friend. I shook my head and headed towards her. "Kay, you okay?" She screamed again, terrified. "Y-yeah I'm f-fine. W-why do you ask?" I felt a suffocating feeling of bloodlust and the desire for people to fear me "W-well you were yelling and-" I turned around and threw up black liquid. I coughed and wiped my mouth. I looked at her and smiled shakily. "Don't mind that. But as I-I was saying...You've been acting weird all morning. Is something w-wrong" My voice was cracking and I was trying to keep the Black blood down. Kayden shook her head frantically. "E-Everything is perfectly f-fine!" She smiled nervously and looked at the ground. I sighed, feeling lied too. I know everything isn't fine. She knows I hate liars. I walked back to my small spot and curled up hoping the bloodlust would stop. A fawn laid down next to me. It was shaking. "I-is everything r-really okay?" It shakes its head and presses its side against me. "The third test is about to start." The fawn shifted, nodding in acknowledgment. It turned into Kayden, who was laying across my stomach. "I'm so scared. Everyone here hates me." She was shaking. "Whatever happens next, please stop it. Help me out." She bit her lip until it bled. "Tell everyone that. I'll need any help I can get." She stood, her face still troubled. She looked out on the field. We had to be out here because of certain abilities. An opening speech was given for the third test. Kayden turned to me with a shaky smile before running to the center of the field. She flinched when everyone groaned but she snapped and they were silent. She took a deep breath. And everyone held theirs.

Alex's Pov

She pulled a choker off and a large scythe curled around her, adorned with golden lining and music notes. She swung it around and music filled the air around us. It sounded like a whole orchestra, playing right next to us, the sound carrying on the calm breeze. She twirled the scythe around before throwing it up Into the air. Mid-air it turned into a cloak. She caught it and wrapped it around herself. She was gone.

Her voice echoed everywhere. The crackle of fire sounded like it was everywhere. We all looked around, searching for the source but a plume of smoke billowed up from where she stood before and she appeared again. Kayden's eyes were closed and small spikes decorated the sides of her face. She snapped her fingers and illusions of enemies appeared all around her. A dome took form around her. It was moving. I looked closer. It was made of song lyrics. Thousands of words, creating a big shield. Impressive. It got smaller and smaller until it caused her to crouch before it exploded, sending illusions flying. They continued striking, constantly getting sent back. Little did she know, another "her" was also attacking. We sat silently, waiting for some kind of signal. Our wait was useless. The cloak was gone at this point. Her eyes flashed toward the audience and I caught a small, quick wink. She multiplied, confusing "Kayden" greatly. She smirked and all of her duplicates had a scythe. The air whistled past them, tousling curly, dark blue hair. They twirled in sync and struck, most of the blades phasing through "her" and vanishing, leaving one left. It hit its mark. It cut through, white liquid spraying everywhere. She coughed up the white liquid. "This isn't the end.." and the image dissipated. The real Kayden's scythe turned back into a choker and she opened her eyes and the vibrancy returned in her face. But her eyes widened and she coughed up blood. It wasn't blood. I mean, it was..but it was violet. Kayden stepped back, a hand covering her mouth. People stepped forward toward her to help but she only held out other hand out, shaking her head. She walked to the back, arms crossed and keeping her head low. Her fingers tapped rapidly on her arm.
