Y/N's POV

I was sat in the comfy lawn chair on the porch of mine and Ally's house. We were watching the grandkids run around the backyard. I looked over to my wife of 60 years and smiled. I slowly reached over and grabbed her wrinkled yet soft hand in mine. She smiled at me when I grabbed her hand and slowly leaned in for a kiss. I pulled back when I heard the kids running towards us.

" Grandma! Gran!" They all yelled at the same time. I laughed lightly as they all tried to get our attention.

" Can you tell us how you and Gran?" Jessie asked me. I looked over at Ally and smiled.

" Sure! Everyone sit down." I said and they all sat down quickly.

" I remember the day I met your Gran like it was yesterday..." I started as I faded into the memory

I was in the cart that was being pulled by our horse with my father. We were heading to the market to sell some of the crops that we had harvested. Once we arrived at the market, I hopped off of the cart and helped my father unpack our cart. Typically woman aren't the ones who help with the farm work but seeing as I'm an only child, I must help my father so that my family can afford to live. As I was unloading the cart, I saw a beautiful woman walking through the market. She was wearing a beautiful yellow dress that stood out in the market. I wiped some sweat off my brow as I stared at her looking at the flowers and smelling them.

" Y/N, come help me please." My father said breaking me out of my staring. I blushed slightly and went to help my father set up our table. Once that was finished, I looked around to see if I could find the blonde haired beauty in the yellow dress, but I couldn't find her. I sighed silently to myself and got on to working as I should be. I didn't end up seeing her for the rest of the day that we were there.

" I didn't see her while we were there and every time we went back to the market, she wasn't there until one day she was." I said to the grandkids as they listened carefully.

I was sitting at our table, and no one was coming to the table.

" Why don't you go buy your mother some flowers over there? I'll manage the table for now." My father said handing me some money. I nodded at him and walked towards the booth. Once I got there, I looked over all the flowers that were set up on the table. I was so focused on the flowers that I didn't notice that someone was standing beside me. I saw a nice bunch of flowers and as I went to reach for it, my hand collided with someone else. I pulled my hand back and looked over to see the beautiful blonde that I've been searching for. I gasped slightly and stared at her like a fool. She had beautiful dark brown eyes that I couldn't stop looking into. I suddenly became aware that she looked like she had money and I didn't, and I was dirty. I saw her mouth moving and zoned back in.

" Sorry, I didn't hear what you said." I said blushing slightly. She giggled lightly which caused me to smile.

" I said that you could have the flowers. You reached for them first." She said to me and I shook my head at her.

" No, I insist that you have them." I grabbed them off the cart and handed them to her. She smiled and then turned to pay for the flowers. Her smile was beautiful. Everything about her was beautiful, so I couldn't help but stare. She brought the flowers up to her nose and closed her eyes. She turned to me with a smile.

" Thank you. My name is Ally." She said to me and I smiled at her.

" I'm Y/N. It's a pleasure to meet you." I took her hand in mine and kissed the top of it. I saw her blush a little and smiled to myself. The two of us sat by the cart and talked about our lives, and I found out that she lives in the nice part of town. It was nice to learn about her. I really like her.
