Y/N's POV

Lauren and I were together in her apartment and she was ranting. I was here to listen like I always do. We had been drinking a bit so it helped her open up more.

" I don't want to waste any more time on letdowns and heartbreaks. It's all a waste of time and there's no point in it." Lauren said as she paced her living room.

" That's exactly what I've been telling you." I said to her and she sighed and plopped down on the couch.

" I see that now." She said and I turned to look her in her beautiful green eyes. Lauren and I are in this weird place in our relationship. We aren't together, but we aren't just friends either.

" You always know the perfect thing to say. How do you do that?" She asked me and I let out a laugh.

" I don't know. I'm just awesome I guess." I said to her and she giggled. She rested her head against my shoulder and I rested my cheek against the crown of her head.

" Why don't we go out and get some drinks? Let's talk shit about exes because we both know that we have bad ones." I said with a roll of my eyes.

" We do, but should we really go out? I think we're already a bit tipsy." She said with a giggle and I smiled at how adorable she was.

" Who cares. Let's go have some fun." I said. She smiled and nodded. I stood up and held my hand out. We left her apartment and I hailed a taxi. We got in and couldn't keep ourselves from giggling at anything. The driver rolled his eyes at us, but drove us to where we wanted to go anyway. I watched Lauren laugh and rant about anything and everything. She stopped and stared at me. Neither of us wanted to break our staring contest.

" I really want to kiss you right now." Lauren blurted out and I blushed slightly. She blushed and covered her mouth.

" Why don't you?" I said after a moment of silence and she looked at me with her eyebrows raised. She looked down at my lips and stared at them for a moment. I saw her lick her lips and then her eyes flickered back to mine.

" We shouldn't because we're friends. It might ruin our friendship." She said and I sighed.

" Lauren, we both know that we're more than just friends. We could get lost tonight and do whatever we want. We can go bar hopping, go to a club, or even walk around the city. At least, we'd know that we gave it a try." I said to her and she looked unsure.

" There's no pressure, Laur. We will still be friends if it doesn't work out, but I have a good feeling that it will. We can take a few more shots and see where the night ends." I said to convince her and she nodded. I smiled at her and she smiled back.

When we arrived at the bar, I paid the driver and we got out. We entered the club and went straight to the bar. I ordered us each two shots and we downed them pretty quick. I cringed at the taste and chased it with a lemon. I grabbed Lauren's hand and led her to the dance floor. We started dancing together and I could feel the heat building between the two of us. We ignored everyone around us and focused solely on each other.

We danced for a little longer before I pulled her out of the club and we walked hand and hand down the street. We were talking about nothing in particular,, but laughing about everything. We came around to a fair near the beach. I pulled Lauren in the direction of the fair. I paid for us to get in and I pulled us towards the small rollercoaster that the fair had. We waited in the line and when we finally got on, I couldn't focus on the ride because I was laughing too hard at Lauren's face when we dropped. It's probably not a good idea to go on a rollercoaster when you're drunk. It was fun anyway. When we got off, Lauren smacked me in the arm.
