i glanced at jae, spacing out as i watched him as he went up to the counter to order coffee for the both of us.

"y/n!" i heard someone shout. i saw namjoon waving frantically at me. i smiled at him, motioning him to come and join me. he plopped himself in the seat across from me, smiling widely.

"so, how's it been? i haven't seen you since that camping trip," he asked me, a grin plastered on his face.

"it's been fine, i haven't really gotten a hold of my life yet, but let's see what happens," i said, leaning backwards into the chair of the booth. i looked over at jae, who probably had a hard time choosing a drink.

"is it okay if i ask you something, namjoon?" i asked as i turned back to him. He had a slightly curious look.

"yeah, it's fine," he said, leaning towards me to hear me better over the bustling of the cafe.

"how do you know when you're in love?" i asked him, staring seriously into his eyes.

"sometimes, you feel as if you could just burst by looking at them," he said to me. i looked back at jae, who was finally getting the drinks. i noticed every detail about him, the way his eyes shined like the stars, the way his soft, silky, hair reflected sunlight and made him glow, and, of course, his circular glasses that made him look childish. i'm sure that i stared at him for a few seconds longer than what is socially acceptable.

"thanks, jae," i smiled brightly at him, positive that i was blushing a bit.

"oh, i forgot to introduce you. this is namjoon, he's been my best friend since high school," i quickly introduced them. i sipped the vanilla latte that jae had ordered for me, sighing in contentment. we talked for what seemed like hours, but in reality, it was only about ten minutes.

"ah, shoot. i'm gonna be late for work. it was nice meeting you, namjoon." jae said as he checked his watch. i said goodbye to him and watched him speed-walk out of the door.

"i felt like i was high when we were talking." i mumbled, staring unconsciously at the door.

"you're probably in love, sweetie."
