    "dear dowoon."

"whenever i told you i hated you, i hope you didn't take it seriously."

"whenever i told you to go away, know that i really just wanted you to hold me and never let go."

"whenever i told you to shut up, i really wanted you to whisper sweet nothings to me and comfort me."

"whenever i cried, it was because of you. it was all because i couldn't have you that i acted like this."

"and now i'm gone. i won't be coming back. i never got to tell you how i felt. i fell for you, but i didn't make a move."

"when i'm gone, don't look for me. please. i love you. i loved you. but i'm gone now. goodbye."

you whispered the sentences to yourself, curling into a ball in the backseat of the car. a moving truck followed behind.

you looked out at the neighborhood that you lived in for most of your life. the letter was already delivered and you were long gone. you closed your eyes, sadness clenching your chest. in the rearview mirror, you could vaguely see someone running after the car. you straightened up, looking back.

    "s-stop the car!"

as both the truck and car screeched to a halt, you jumped out, running to him. yoon dowoon. i told you not to look for me. in his fist, he gripped a letter tightly. he sprinted to you, tackling you into a hug. you stumbled back into the side of the truck, gasping as his soft lips pressed onto yours, desperate and loving.

"are you really going?" he stared into your eyes. you traced your thumb on his cheek, nodding silently. you silently kissed him, hugging him like there was no tomorrow.

"i love you." you ran away, not wanting to look back. imagining him standing with his hand outstretched was painful enough. you couldn't help but glance at him one last time as you got into the car.

"goodbye." you mouthed. as you passed the sign that indicated that you were leaving the town, your heart couldn't help but ache. one day. i'll come back.
