"maybe we shouldn't..."
you reluctantly watched jae jump the fence, a mischievous expression on his face.
"aw, come on. nothing bad will happen to you if i'm here."
you gave in, sighing as you climbed up the iron fence. jae smiled as you jumped over, supporting you as you pitched forward.
"i'm fine." you brushed off his arm, standing up straight. "is there a reason we're here?"
"of course there is! are you ready for some running?" and with that, jae started up the small hill. you shook your head, running after him.
following jae up countless hills, you found your legs starting to burn. you heaved deep breaths as you ran up another hill. please jae... please tell me there isn't another one.
fortunately, jae stopped on top of the hill. you caught up to him, panting. you laid down on the soft grass, jae settling beside you. he smiled up at the stars, placing his arms beneath his head.
"i come here a few times a week, just to clear my mind. the stars are so bright here, but that's only one of the reasons why i like this place," jae huffed out. you stared at the stars, looking at the constellations. you turned your head to jae, smiling.
"there're more reasons?" you asked, still a bit short of breath. he nodded, standing up and holding out a hand for you to grab. you stood up, following jae down to a small clearing. it had a lake in the middle, where a few forest animals had gathered to lap up water.
"when the moon is full, it looks amazing," jae whispered, watching the animals quietly.
"i bet it does," you breathed out, staring in awe at the beauty of the clearing.
"wait, who owns this place?" you suddenly asked. jae chuckled.
"a friend..." jae rubbed the back of his neck. you looked at him, cocking an eyebrow. "okay, maybe a multi-millionaire that i don't know... maybe?"
"ugh, jae." you shook your head, unaware of the people approaching you.
"freeze!"
"lovely, jae. just freaking lovely."
