SLEEPLESS NIGHTS

      "another sleepless night, huh?"

     sungjin picked up almost immediately when you called him, despite the fact that it was almost two in the morning. you sighed, curling up in your bedsheets.

     "yeah. why are you up, though?" you asked, your voice a whisper. he chuckled, making you smile.

     "i figured that you can't sleep very well most of the time. i stay up just in case you want someone to talk to," sungjin muttered. you could imagine the awkward smile on his face.

     "thank you." you smiled, closing your eyes for a second. there was a comfortable silence between the two of you, making you feel soft and warm. before you knew it, you had drifted off to sleep. sungjin listened to your slowing breaths, knowing that you had fallen asleep. he grinned, hanging up and falling asleep himself.

     you woke up to sunlight filtering through your blinds. groggily, you checked your phone. it was a message from sungjin, after you had fallen asleep on call.

     hope you had a good night's rest. eat a good breakfast. call me again tonight if you can't sleep. :)

     you texted him back, smiling brightly. maybe you wouldn't have many more sleepless nights now.
