"IT WAS A HARD DAY FOR YOU, WASN'T IT?"

a groan escaped your lips as you glanced at the pile of paperwork that your boss had given you again. it would take the whole day to finish going through every single thing, you thought. you would complain about how your coworkers had less than half of the amount of work you had to do, but your boss was only there in the afternoons, when you were stressed about the huge stack of papers that you had to sort through.

along with the papers, you had to write a report about the stock of your company. you sighed, wanting the day to be over.

when you had finished your work, there was nobody left in the office space. there was nothing else to do except go home and sleep, but tomorrow, you had to wake up again and go back to this unpromising job.

the ride home was silent. there were barely any cars, as it was two in the morning. as you pulled into your apartment complex, you realized the light in your apartment was on. probably younghyun.

you entered the room, your heart melting as you saw younghyun on your couch, rolled in a pink blanket. you closed the light, trying your best to avoid waking him. in your carelessness, you walked into your coffee table, yelping at the sudden pain.

"y/n?" his eyes squinted as he rolled over. you went to turn on the light again, seeing as there was no need for it.

"younghyun." you smiled, not having seen him in a long time. you had been so busy with work that you hadn't been able to meet with him. he gestured to a spot beside him. you sat, but eventually ended up pressed onto younghyun's chest.

"i bet it was a hard day for you." he hugged you tightly. you nodded, cuddling closer to him.

"i love you so much." you mumbled, the tiredness sinking in. "i didn't have any free time to get away from my job."

"it's okay." he squeezed you. you laid in silence, listening to his soft breaths. suddenly, he sat up. you pulled him closer to you.

"younghyunnie."

"yes?"

"sing me to sleep." he chuckled, but complied. you closed your eyes, listening to his beautiful voice. he sang the song that he had written just for you, lulling you to sleep with just the words,

"it was a hard day for you today."
