"i think we need to talk." dowoon opened the door, startling you. you looked up into his dark brown eyes, showing no emotion in them.

    "yes?"

he sighed, running his fingers through his hair. you shifted, patting the space beside you, gesturing for him to sit down.

"i've been thinking about this for a long time," he muttered, a frown plastered onto his face.

"we need to break up." dowoon said. you stared at him, dumbfounded. "i'm regretting not doing this earlier."

"i lead you on wrongly. i don't feel the same about you anymore," he whispered, his voice barely loud enough to be heard by you. you continued to look at him, the surprise you felt turning into anger, then sadness.

"i understand if you want to lash out at me." he stared at you, waiting.

"you know i wouldn't." you started to cry, tears dripping onto the upholstery of the couch. he glanced at you, a hint of pity in his eyes. you could feel the frustration and sorrow filling up your thoughts, filling up your chest. you could barely breathe or think. you knew he wasn't in love with you. you could see it. you already saw it. he felt no loss, he was already numb.

"y/n. it's time to go now. goodbye," dowoon whispered. you gave him a small nod, wiping away the remaining tears. time seemed to slow down as you watched him walk out of the apartment door. you wanted to call out, to stop him from leaving, but you knew that he didn't feel the same for you anymore. it wouldn't work.

    "goodbye."
