This whole chapter will be Levinia's POV just FYI
(Levinia)
I walk into class 2 minutes before the bell rings. I walk in and I see a guy and a girl talking to my parents in the back of the room near our teacher's desk. My mom spots me and gives me a smile. Right then my friend Adyn grabs me by my free arm and pulls me off to the side trying not to yell when talking.
"You didn't tell me your parents were coming to school today!"
"So? You've met them before why are you freaking out?!"
"I don't know, I still get a little starstruck." She's not the only one. Everyone else seems excited after 1st and 2nd period. I wasn't sure about what until I heard almost all of them say Victors, or Peeta, or Katniss. I roll my eyes as the bell rings and take my seat. I was in the second row, in the third seat back. She takes roll, and as soon as she's done she gets right to the lesson.
"Today we're reviewing what brought peace back to Panem. Anyone want to tell us what that is?" Everyone's hand is raised except for mine. When it comes to this stuff I try not to answer so much because, well it just feels weird being that we're practically studying my parents. She asks another question and I still don't raise my hand, she seems to notice and asks another one, but this time calls on me.
"Levinia, who were the 2 victors of the 74th Hunger Games?" I feel all eyes on me, even my parents. I find it weird that she asked me out of everyone else who knew the answer, but I answer anyways in a confident but low voice, I don't know why I use a low voice though.
"Katniss Mel-...Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark." I'm so not used to calling my mother Everdeen.
"Yes" she says to me and turns over to my parents and motions them forward. They introduce themselves and my dad asks if there are any questions. More than half of the classes hands go up when my mother speaks for them to state there name when asking there questions. The questioning goes on for a few minutes, "What was it like being in the arena? How long were you in the Capitol's possession? When did you first know you loved Peeta?" And so on. One question I can tell gets everyone's attention. One girl that sits next to me on my right asks it.
"My name is Lillian, can you please tell us about the bread story. I'm not too sure what that is." My dad looks over to my mom and begins. I loved this story. It always put a smile on my face. My dad begins telling the story and I begin to listen closely in the middle.
"My mother beat me for burning the bread and told me to feed it to the pig. I went out side to do so, but instead I..." Then he gets a look in his face. I recognize it anywhere. He's having a flashback. My mother tries to reign him back. Everyone looks worried but mainly cause they don't understand what's happening. I try not to look. I usually help my mother after about 5 seconds if it doesnt work. Its only been 3 seconds and I can't sit still anymore. I get up from my seat and go over to my dad who's body is stiff and cluthing and unclutching his hands. I grab one of his hands and he squeezes it as my mom is holding his other hand and I whisper.
"Dad, come back please. It's Levinia, your daughter." I pause to see if it worked. It seemed to because he returns to normal. He whispers to my mother and I: "I'm sorry, so sorry." We assure him its not his fault and he apologizes to the class and Mrs. Stines as well. Everyone looks so worried and one student asks if he's okay in a worried voice. My mother explains to the class what it was and my dad continues his story and finishes off. Then Mrs. Stines suggests we watch the tape. Ive seen this twice before. Once when my parents taught me about it, and second when they taught Peete. Peete kinda tricked them into telling him. He's a smart little kid. My parents and I already knew what parts were next, so we looked away knowing what parts we didn't want to watch. It shows the reapings, chariot rides, interviews, countdown, bloodbath, everything. I begin to really watch once my parents are into the cave. Their very first kiss, even though it wasn't real. Everyone "awws" at my dads story when he first fell in love with my mom. The feast scene isn't my favorite so I don't bother even looking. The rest of the video goes on. When it finishes we have about 5 minutes left. People ask more questions. By the time the bell rings for lunch all questions have been answered in such a short time. I walk over to my parents who are talking to each other.
