"Can you shoot that gun from a distance if need be?" Aldrik asked after a few minutes of driving had commenced.

"Distance was not a problem when I took down Roland." She didn't peel her gaze from the road.

"I do not know if he has anyone living with him. I only know that he is cocky and full of himself. Remember that. It could be his vice, and it will make him dangerous." He warned her, his knuckles turning white as he held on tighter to the steering wheel.

"I am not worried, Aldrik. If he is the leader, he will suffer the most." She gave him a sideways look, refusing to let the rage budge.

He nodded, turning off his headlights as they approached a small house. "It should be easy to clear. We are walking from here though. I will not risk him hearing the truck."

"Not a problem." Mina checked her sidearm, making sure she was ready to shoot when necessary. As soon as the engine was killed, she hopped out of the truck. She snatched the rolled up wire, pausing when Aldrik held out his hand.

"Give it to me." She yielded and handed the wire over as was expected of her. She'd need both hands anyway.

Silently, they stumbled up to the house. It was quiet, not a peep echoed through it. She'd follow Aldrik's lead. They had no space to make errors or any form of mistakes. Mina reached for the door as Aldrik slid to the side, ready for whatever came their way. The doorknob was unlocked. She looked over at him, cocking eyebrow. He hadn't been kidding. Nobody left their door unlocked unless they didn't think they had anything to fear. This man was cocky. Slowly she turned the knob and let the door open. The house was still, nobody moved throughout it. It was eerie, but she imagined that's how their home was as well at this time of the night.

Aldrik pointed inside. Mina nodded; she snapped her flashlight on, keeping it pointed at the floor. The light would be necessary, but it made it harder to clear the house. She kept her gun ready in the opposite hand. The house was small and easy to check out. Kitchen was empty. Living room was empty. Bathroom was empty. First bedroom was empty. They had the last room left to check.

Aldrik swung over to the side of the room, nodding for Mina to aim the flashlight in it. She did. A single form was breathing heavily under a quilt in his bed. Mina's breath caught in her throat when the floor creaked under her weight. She glanced at Aldrik wide-eyed. He didn't look fazed, just nodding back at the room. Swallowing, Mina inched her way in. It took everything in her power not to shoot the man sleeping as though he had done nothing as brutal as they'd seen just hours earlier.

Standing over the body, anger overcame her. She couldn't hold back as she aimed the gun at the man's knee and pulled the trigger.

He sat up screaming, holding his knee with both hands. The blood was seeping through his fingers as he looked at her wide-eyed. "What the hell, woman?"

She aimed the gun at his head. "Are you Jonas Braun?"

"That depends..." He squeaked out angrily.

Mina aimed at his other knee, her voice low and dangerous. "Answer me."

He hesitated, but the second she pulled the hammer back on the weapon, he folded. "Yeah, yeah I am Jonas Braun! Why do you want to know?"

Mina backed up, flashing the light in his face. "Get up."

"I cannot. You shot me!" He glared at her, not budging from his spot.

"I will shoot you again unless you get up and walk." There was no room for leniency. She wasn't going to be weak. This was nothing in comparison to what they did to Markus; the horrors that he had to endure.
