The blackness started to go away as Mina came to. She was pinned to a table, soaked to the skin. Her vision was blurred as she felt the throbbing headache making it harder for her to focus. She squinted painfully at Armina. The woman looked ready to intervene, but Mina just shook her head. There was no way she would allow her to get in any more danger. Relieved to see Armina cautiously nod her agreement, she focused on Edith.
"As God as my witness, I will rid that body of your devious head, Weber." She moaned as the guard tightened his grip on her wrists.
"Heh." The light chuckle erupted from Edith's mouth. Tossing the empty water bucket to the side, she looked amused. "You will not be walking out of here alive, Sauer.
Mina didn't give her the enjoyment of responding. She stared up at the ceiling, biting her tongue from the rebuke she wanted to spew out at her captor. This was not how things were supposed to go.
A smacking noise drew Mina's attention rapidly. She stared wide-eyed as Edith struck Armina's ribs a second time. A sharp blow that dropped her too her knees, clutching her side. She didn't breathe a sound though, just glared at Edith.
"Stop! Stop it!" Mina yelled at the woman, struggling to break free of the guard pinning her down. She twisted, bucking up, causing as much chaos as possible. The guard was too strong, but she couldn't see her friend hurt like that, even if it meant revealing herself as a sympathizer.
Edith stopped mid-swing, turning to look at Mina. "You have proven my point."
"I thought you wanted revenge." Mina sucked in sharp breaths as she gave herself the courage she needed. "I did not realize you were just trying to prove a point."
Grabbing a hammer from the windowsill, Edith clutched it tightly as she drew closer to Mina. "I am here for revenge, but I wanted to establish that fact first. Sit her up and hold her tight."
Glaring, Mina could feel the guard pin her arms in front of her and pull her to the end of the table. She tried to pull free, but he just held her tighter, pinching her against himself. "Do what you want to me! I do not care!" Mina screamed at Edith. She could feel the spit escape through her teeth, as they clenched after the words left her mouth.
"You will care." Edith sobered up and found her way next to Mina's side. She ran her hand down Mina's bare leg. "These uniforms are comfortable enough, but they leave too much exposed it you ask me. It is far too easy to get hurt."
"Did I leave scars for you to remember the thrashing I gave you?" Mina ignored how uncomfortably close she was to the guard behind her. She could feel his breath on her neck; smell the stench of it.
Giving no warning, the woman raised the hammer up and smashed it as hard as she could onto Mina's ankle.
The pain was sickening. Mina could feel the scream echoing out of her, but had no recollection when the noise even began. She wanted to reach out and grab her ankle, but instead she tensed in the guard's grip, knowing that at least he would hold her up and not let her fall.
The second time the hammer came down on her ankle there was a sickening crunch. She could feel the bones shattering and the blood coming through the open wound. Other than the white-hot pain burning through her ankle, she couldn't feel her foot. She pinched her eyes shut, attempting to stop the tears from pinching through her eyelids. The feat was useless. She bit her lip as hard as she could. The stress of the pain could be seen in the creases in her forehead as she pinched her brows together in complete agony.
