"But you owe me!" Aldrik threw a hand out to the side, arguing with their only hope of a quick meeting with Mina and the others.

Markus leaned against the doorframe, watching the sight unfold. Things were not looking good. Odis Park had five or six good planes and Markus knew he could fly at least one of them --- at least, he hoped he could.

"I told you all ready, Aldrik. No is no." Odis shrugged, his arms folded across his broad chest. "If you took a plane I doubt I would get it back."

"We would pay you for it." Aldrik didn't blink, his teeth grating together. Maybe it was a form of intimidation, but Odis didn't seem the least bit phased.

"I have known you since you were a boy, Aldrik. How could you afford to pay for a plane?" Pausing, Odis eyed him up for a moment before shaking his head. "Never mind, I do not want to know. I cannot afford to be down a plane, especially with this war."

"What is the hold up?" Decker walked into the room after scouting around.

Odis eyed him up, his jaw setting hard. The shadow crossing his face didn't make him look any less interested in helping them. "I especially would not give you a plane if you were helping the likes of him."

Aldrik glanced back at Decker, letting out a heavy breath as the weight of what he needed to do rested on his shoulders. Neither of them had calculated that Decker had a reputation that exceeded him.

"Why not?" Markus stepped forward, frowning as he eyed up the airport owner. "What makes him so different from the rest of us?"

Odis could answer anyway he wanted to. He could say that Decker helped with a resistance against the Fatherland. He could say he wrecked more havoc than was acceptable. He could say he wasn't socially accepted in Germany. His next words were anyone's guess.

Odis turned to face Markus, his shoulders squared and his jaw hard. "Have you stolen someone's girl before?"

Of course... Of course that was what this was about. Armina recruited women all the time. She showed them they should be able to have equal rights and that they were of value. Clearly this man had experienced the life-altering event and wasn't quite on board with it.

Decker grunted, shaking his head. "That was nearly twenty years ago, Odis, maybe even longer. When are you going to let go of the past?"

Aldrik looked from Decker to Odis before settling on Odis, awaiting his response. His arms were crossed over his chest as he let the drama unfold, calculating how much of a problem this was.

"Look, if this is about what Armina and him do..." Markus said calmly, trying to keep the situation from blowing up. "They are in the right."

"This is about Armina all right." Odis glared at Decker as if he could melt him with a stare.

"She chose me. Get over it, fool." Decker's brows furrowed in frustration as he reached up to rub the spot in between them. "She made her choice and although she chose me, it did not end up the way you thought it would."

"You still got her love. And nobody calls me a fool." Odis growled, running at Decker with his fist raised.

Decker stood calmly, waiting for him to get to him. The second he did he sidestepped, letting Odis fall out the front doors. Sighing, he followed him outside. "Armina loves me, but we never got married and we never had kids. You wanted a family, Odis. Armina wanted to help people."

Standing up, Odis growled, trying to fling another fist at Decker. "I would have done anything for her!"

Decker ducked out of the way, watching for the next assault. "And you would not have been happy."
