He continued to pace back and forth. His big hands were running through his hair over and over.
"Matt, what did she do?"
He shook his head and waved me off as if my question wasn't important at that very moment. I took a few steps forward and grabbed his hands, making him look at me.
"What happened?" I asked him seriously.
"She's threatening to stop paying my rent. If I don't go and freaking visit her every so often she goes ape shit crazy and says a bunch of crap about how I'm not a good son and that my brother is so much better. What the hell am I supposed to do now?!" He yelled, throwing his hands up in the air. I quickly grabbed them and pulled them close to my chest.
"Listen, this is what we are gonna do, okay?" I said calmly. He nodded his head.
"You're gonna go visit your mom. If that's what she wants and will stop bothering, just do it. It's what's best for everyone."
He let out a loud sigh.
"I-I can't talk about this right now. I just need to- ah, god! I can't even go mess around with anyone because of you!" He yelled, pointing at me. I ignored his hurtful comment and shook my head.
"Matt, you have to-"
"No, you know what? I know what I have to do. I'm going out for a little while. I'll see you later." He mumbled. Before I could stop him, he charged out the door and slammed it behind him.
I groaned loudly and slid my back down against the wall. There was nothing I could do.

Ring ring. Ring ring. Ring ring.
I slowly opened my eyes to see my phone going off. I saw Matt's contact name and photo on it, so I quickly grabbed it and answered.
"Hello?" I mumbled.
"Why can't I?" He slurred. I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Why can't you what?"
"Why can't I mess around with different girls. Like, we aren't official. We make out occasionally, so what?"
"Matt, where are you?" I asked sternly.
"I'm in some bedroom at this house. I'm at a party and there's a really hot girl here. I sooo wanted to-"
"Matt, where is the house? What's the address?" I yelled. I felt the tears prick my eyes.
"Jesus, chill out. It's on fifth avenue. But you didn't answer my question." He replied. It sounded like he had marbles in his mouth.
"Go to hell with your freaking question, Matthew. I'll be there in a few minutes. Go outside and wait there."
I hung up the phone and put on some pants before grabbing my keys and running out the door. I looked at the time on my phone that read 1:43 am.
Fantastic.
When I got to my car I started the engine and pulled out of the apartment complex. I turned down fifth avenue and immediately saw the party. There was a huge house with strobe lights and people everywhere.
When I pulled up, Matt was not waiting by the street like I told him to. I parked the car and called him, but he didn't pick up.
After waiting for fifteen minutes, I decided that I should go and look for him since he was no where to be found.
I walked into the house and immediately became uncomfortable by how many people were around me.
I eventually made it upstairs after being groped and whispered to by at least five guys. I looked down the hallway and cringed at the fact that I was going to have to look in all of these rooms for him.
The first room was drunk sex, the second room was making out, and the third room was a bathroom. I was already disgusted by everything so far and was ready to just find Matt and leave.
I walked down the hallway to the last bedroom and took a deep breath. I opened the door to see Matt hovering over a brunette who was already completely topless. He was in his underwear and red t-shirt, entirely oblivious to the fact I was standing right there.
My heart dropped out of my chest when I saw him. This was a different feeling than when I saw him with Blondie. This wasn't just hurt. It was also jealousy.
But it was a different type of hurt. It was hurt that he was with someone else and didn't try and come to me, even though I wouldn't have gone as far as they were trying to. I felt abandoned.
I knew I needed to stop this as soon as possible.
"Matt." I said sternly. He quickly broke away from her and looked at me. He looked back the topless girl and then to me over and over.
"Oh, uh, hey." He mumbled.
I scoffed and shook my head.
"Get your damn pants on. We're leaving."
He quickly pulled on his khakis and walked over to me, looking highly intoxicated.
I turned around and began walking down the stairs. I felt so betrayed. How could he just forget about me like that?
I got to the bottom of the stairs and felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see a tall brunette with deep brown eyes standing over me.
"Hey, Nina!" He cooed. He brought me in for a hug. "Do you remember me? Jack Gilinsky?"
Suddenly it all clicked. This was the guy that I made out with the night of the party.
"Jack! Hey!" I smiled. "It's so good to see you! We need to catch up!"
Everyone knows what 'catch up' means at a party. I knew exactly what I was doing. I think Matt had an idea too, but he wasn't very happy about it.
"Yeah, we definitely need to. Where are you headed?"
"Uh, I'm going back to my apartment to chill. You can come hang out if you want?" I smirked.
I saw him gulp and then give me a big grin.
"Uh, yeah, that sounds great."
