"Liam! Zayn!" Harry shouted as he ran into the waiting room of the hospital. "I came as quick as I could."
"Hey," Liam said. He stood up and pulled Harry into a hug. "Thanks for coming."
"We're just waiting on a few tests," Zayn explained. "Though if you ask me, I could have uses acupuncture to figure this out."
"Shh, honey. Save it for later," Liam said. "We've gotta think about Louis right now."
"Right," Harry replied as he took a seat. "Let's just stay positive."
About an hour later, they called Louis' name and the trio hopped up, ready to see him.
"He's in room 35," the nurse instructed.
"Thanks," Harry replied, nearly running there.
When he opened the door, the three of them looked on in shock. Louis' skin was a pale grey color and his eyes were traced by dark purple circles. As he lay propped up in the hospital bad, Louis looked weak and sickly, barely able to keep his head up
Harry felt a knot form in his stomach as he looked at Louis. Before, he always looked physically healthy which is why it was sometimes hard to tell that he was struggling. But today, he looked sick and weak in his hospital bed and Harry wanted to kick himself for not taking things more seriously.
"Hey, Lou," Liam said with a smile as he approached the bed. Harry and Zayn followed behind. "How you feeling?"
"How do you think?" Louis asked. His voice was raspy, like he smoked too many cigarettes.
"Sorry mate. Better at least, I hope?" Liam replied. "You scared us. I'm so glad you're okay."
"I knew he was going to be okay!" Zayn said, holding up his crystal.
"Oh great," Louis groaned. "You brought the hippie."
"I have a name," Zayn grunted.
"I know you do, honey," Liam said, kissing his cheek lightly. "But would you mind being a doll and running to get Louis some Jello?"
"Fine," Zayn replied. "Though artificial sugar is the underworld's doing."
Liam nodded and waved Zayn office, refocusing his attention on Louis.
"How are you Though? For real? What did they say?" Liam asked.
Louis slumped down in his bed, grimacing. "We're not gonna discuss that now."
"Okay," Liam sighed. "But before you're discharged I want to talk to the doctor. See what I have to do."
"You don't have to do anything," Louis said. His voice was surprisingly stern.
"Harry's here," Liam said, quickly changing the subject.
"I noticed," Louis groaned, picking at a piece of hair that was plastered to his neck. "Why?"
"I wanted to see if you were okay," Harry said. He left his spot near the door and began to walk towards the hospital bed, his boots tapping loudly on the linoleum floor.
"Well I'm okay," Louis said. "Everyone can go home."
Liam shot Harry a sympathetic look, but Harry dismissed it.
"I'm glad you're okay. You mean a lot to me," Harry said, kneeling down next to the bed. "I'm really sorry I upset you earlier. I didn't mean to. I was being rude and I'm sorry."
"It's fine," Louis replied, toying with the IV in his arm. "Don't worry about it."
"Maybe now isn't a great time to talk, Louis," Liam interjected. "Do you want us to come back later?"
