PoV: Sonic

About a week had passed since we all moved here. There was already a routine around here. Rouge would come home and practicly collapse onto the couch. About an hour after she took her bath while I made dinner. After she ate it was back to the couch while I cleaned up. Though there was one thing that happened at random. Anytime she was tired enough she'd grabbed me and hold me in her arms. Shadow... the only time a saw him was for coffee in the morning. It almost felt like he was guest here.

"Sonic," Rouge called me from the living room, "when should we have the housewarming?"

"When ever you like, just let me know the day before so I can prepare," I answered.

"What are you making?" She asked.

"Pasta. Did you want something else?" I showed her the sauce what was cooking in a pan.

"No, it smells great," she turned back arpund and got up, "I'm gonna wash up a bit. I'll be out before dinner is ready."

"Okay," I let the sauce simmer and started the noodles.

It was quiet here without Rouge. Even in I go upstairs to check, Shadow's too quiet to tell if he's actually home. I have to my first report soon. What am supposed to write if I can talk to him? Oh well, maybe he needs time to warm up to the new place. He could still be unpacking.

"Sonic~"

"Hm? Ee!" Rouge grabbed me, "Rouge, hold on. I'm still cookin-"

"How are you so warm? I love it, you're like a mini heater," she purred, pressing me closer against her.

"At least let me finish your plate," I pushed myself away.

She held my waist as I served her plate. Note, food works as bribery.

I placed her plate down and she let me go to eat. Once I had my own serving I sat down across from her.

"Do you really just clean all day while were gone?" Rouge asked.

"Mostly, but I also look at other recipes I could try and make. I also go on lots of runs," I replied.

"You must be so bored, being all alone."

"Not always. I can always play music or tv in the background. There's lots I can do while you guys are away."

"I've got a day off soon. I'll take you out to do something."

"No, it's really alright. I'm fine just here. I can always go out for a run if I'm bored."

"Nonsense. I'm taking you out this weekend," she smiled.

"G-great..." I really should be staying home.

"Sonic."

"Hm?"

"What did you do before this? You must've had a job."

"O-oh. I-it was nothing special. J-Just your average job," I answered, "I was a cashier."

"Really?" She was giving me a really serious look, it was making me anxious, "Mr. Retired hero."

"Y-you know?" I groaned.

"I have access to everyone's files. You can't lie to me," she smirked, "What made you retire?"

"I defeated my enemy. Why else. When there was no one left fight, it became my time to rest. So, that's what I'm doing know," I answered.

"You saved the world plenty of times, why do you need to work for G.U.N now?"

"I thought it would be fun. I'd be helping out again, just with less people. I don't really care about the money, it means nothing in the end anyways. I just wanted to help."

"You're so sweet."

"I'll take your plate now, if you're done," I offered my hand for her plate.

"You seem really young to be retired."

"I guess I was pretty young when I started fighting. I'm alright though. I'm happy with my life as it is."

"You seem happy," I heard footsteps and turned so she her behind me.

"I am."

"I wish I could feel as content as you. I haven't found what makes me happy, other than jewelry," she sighed.

"You'll find something. I'm sure of it. I'm going to take a shower once I'm  done here. Do you need anything before I go?" I asked.

"I need you~" she grabbed me again and squeezed me, "oh Sonic, what am I gonna do?"

"What do you mean?" I squeaked.

"I don't have boyfriend, or a girlfriend. Work frickin' sucks. And Shadow's such a jackass. I can't talk to him about anything. You're the only light I have in this life. You and your food."

"Y-you don't mean that. You'll find your passion. I-I'm sure of it. And you'll find someone who's better than me."

"That's impossible, your the purest thing I know. I'm so lucky I get to keep you,"she squished me, "You're such a good boy."

"Rouge, come on~ let go," I whined, she was just petting me now.

"Never."

"Are you alright? You mood is changing more than usual, ah!" I was picked up and tossed over her shoulder, "Rouge!"

  She finally put me down when we reached the couch. She kept hugging me, I think she might be on her time... Does she have enough materials to deal with it? I hope she isn't cramping.

"Sonic," she pulled me down so I was laying in her arms, "You want to take a bath don't you."

"I-I actually prefer showers," I answered.

"But you'd be so cute playing in the tub."

"I'm not a child."

"What are you two idiots doing?" Shadow was in the room, it was first in a while.

"Snugglin' jealous?" Rouge teased him.

"Not in the the slightest," he walked away.

"Shadow, do you need something? I-I'll get it for you," I got up and dusted myself off.

  He looked at me. I thought for a second I saw his eyes shift down and back. He just kept walking. I sat down a sighed, He really doesn't want to be friends does he. His side of my report will be impossible like this.

"Sonikku~ what's wrong?" Rouge asked.

"I don't think anything I've done has made Shadow very happy," I let my head fall back, Rouge's smile above me.

"You making me happy. Sitting on my lap like that," she purred.

"Ah!" I jumped up and bowed, "I'm Sorry! I-I didn't mean to."

  All I heard was racket coming from downstairs. That left everything impossible to concentrate on. Will those to quiet down for once.
