PoV: Shadow

"I'm going out on a privet mission tomorrow," Rouge groaned.

"Bout time. I was getting sick of you," I opened the lunch Sonic packed me. It was california roll rice.

"I'm gonna miss his cooking. I can't even see him tonight. My sweet little chef," she cried, stuffing her face.

"Too bad," I didn't care for her whining.

It was peaceful when I got home. Sonic left a note on the counter:

Went shopping be back home soon.

- Sonic

I opened up a non alcoholic beer and sipped it as I waited for Sonic.

---

"I'm home," Sonic came back with bags, "Where's Rouge?"

"She's on a mission," I said.

"Oh, you didn't go?" Sonic asked.

"Didn't need to."

"That's nice. You get break for a while."

He started putting things away and cleaning. When he was done I walked up behind him.

"Sonic," I hugged him. He smelt off, more masculine, "You came back with a bandaid. What was the shot for?"

"J-just a flu shot," his cheeks were bright red.

"Don't cook tonight. I'm taking you out," I said.

"What? Shadow. I just went shopping," he crossed his arms.

"It's a special treat. We've been together for so long in this house, we should celebrate," I finished my drink and threw the can away.

"It hasn't even been a year," he said, "and we shouldn't celebrate without Rouge."

"Fine then it's a date," I corrected myself, "Go get ready."

"You're taking me out a date?" He raise a brow, "You take a pill or stung today?"

"Just go," I laughed.

"Fine, fine. I'll go change."

Crap, now I need to think if where to take him.

PoV: Sonic

Why us my heart pounding? It's just dinner, I make it all the time. My body felt warm. I changed at least three times. Why can't I just pick an outfit?!

I grabbed a pair of black leggings and just wore a long lose sweater with some black slip ons.

"Sonic you ready y-? You look great," Shadow came in.

"T-thanks," okay, this outfit it is.

"Anything else you need?" He asked.

"Oh, my wallet," I reached for it and Shadow took the wallet from me, "Shadow?"

"You don't need to pay for anything tonight," he took the cash and credit card out and placed them in my dresser. He handed it back to me. Only my medical card and ID was left.

"Shadow I can felt you pay-"

"You can. Now lets go," he started leaving.

I quickly grabbed some of my cash, just in case, and left with him. Shadow walked me to a nice restaurant, he was holding my hand. I felt my heart race when he squeezed my hand a fraction more than he was.

I'm sick right? No, the doctor said I was fine. What the is this?

He took me to an Italian restaurant. He ordered vale for me and the steak for himself. It turned out vale was baby cow. It was good, but a bit too salty.

"... So... what's work like?" I asked, trying to make conversation, I guess I haven't really hung out with anyone. I usually just talk about cooking and clean while Shadow and Rouge talk. I guess I don't know them too well.

"It's not very eventful. Paper work and files. I'm afraid I can't tell you about the more exciting parts," he answered.

"Yeah, that's understandable..." I didn't know what to ask.

"How'd you get that scar?" I froze when I heard that.

"W-what scar?" I gave out a nervous laugh.

"The scar on your stomach," he said.

"... I don't really-"

"Please, I want to know what happened to you," he held my hand.

"Let's go somewhere privet," I took his hand after the bill was paid and we left.

I took him to a park, we sat on the swings together.

"It was about a year before I met you. I worked with the rebellion, we called ourselves The Freedom Fighters."
