PoV: Sonic"Mommy! Daddy!"
"Ah! Haha!" Elijah jumped onto my stomach, "Oo careful sweetie, don't just Mommy."
"Oh... why are you three always up so early," Shadow groaned. He had two of our children jumping on him.
"Elijah go jump on Daddy. He stronger," I laughed.
"Daddy!"
"Ahh!" Shadow had Elijah jump onto his back, "Your gonna pay for that one!"
"Ah! Hahaha!" Shadow pulled me over him and started tickling me.
The triplets shouts as the jumped on us didn't make things any easier.
"Come one you musketeers," Rouge picked them up, "Let your mom and dad brush their teeth and get dressed. You guy go play in the living room."
"That's for the save," Shadow said.
"Hey, you need to make up for the year they spent jumping on me," I sat over Shadow, "And the three years we missed."
"Well you two look like you're about to have morning s-e-x. I'm gonna watch you're kids," Rouge said.
"What does s-e-x mean?" Evan asked.
"Well its-"
"Don't," I stopped Rouge before she spoke, "You know what I'll do."
"It's not important," Rouge gulped, "Hey where're your cartoons?"
"Over here!" Evan ran off and Rouge left with him.
"Where were we?" Shadow had a smirk on his face.
"You were going to brush your teeth because you have the breath of a dragon," I got off him, "I don't forget what date it is."
"Mommy!" The triplets came running back, "Happy Birthday!"
"Shit," I heard Shadow curse under his breath.
I laughed and walked to the kitchen to make frech toast and bacon for breakfast.
"I need to run an errand," Shadow kissed my cheek goodbye, "I'll be back soon."
"Okay, have from on your errand," I kissed him on the lips then let him go.
"Mommy whay does Daddy always forget your birthday?" Elias asked.
"Daddy's just not good with remembering dates. Which is why I'll always forgive him," I ruffled Elias's quills.
"Mommy can we have a baby sister?"
I nearly choked on my coffee, "I... I'm sorry what?"
"A baby sister, we want one," Evan clarified.
"This lady was talking about how cute and nice her baby sister was. She kept talking and talking about how great she was. So can we have one?" Elijah had those puppy eyes to beg for something he wanted.
"Oh sweeties. A baby is a lot of work. I have the three of you, I don't need anymore babies. And even if we do get another one, I can't pick if it's going to be your sister or your brother," I hugged them.
"Okay, can we have a puppy instead then?" They asked.
"Maybe for Christmas, but you have to be good," I kissed all six of their cheeks.
"We promise we won't break anything in the cafe," they got up and ran off.
"They want a baby sister?" Rouge helped me clean up.
"Yeah... oh chaos what am I supposed to do if this goes on for another year?" I groaned.
"Another year?" Rouge helped me sit, "What are you talking about?"
"They set little goals for themselves. They amazing children, but they know how to get what they want. Last year they asked me for a trampoline. I said no because we didn't have space in the back yard. Then for the rest of the year, the brought home stories and pictures from magazines on trampolines."
"That's why you got it for them? I thought you were just spoiling your kids," Rouge handed me a cup of tea.
"They understand when they canthave something. If I give them everything they ask for they will become spoiled. We can go through the toy section and they'll play. If the ask and I say no they drop it. It's when all three of them want something that you need to worry."
"You've got smart kids, they're gonna put their classmates to shame," R puge laughed.
"Are you kidding. They passed the test to get into kindergarten with a 90%. The average requirement is 55. These kids are going to be fine in school, so long as people can tell who's who."
"Yeah, it's pretty impressive. So how about some wedding talk?"
"Shoot were gonna be late to open up. I have to go. You can start your shift later if you want," I got up and grabbed my keys.
"Yeah, I'll be down after I get them to school," Rouge answered.
I unlocked the door to my cafe ad got everything ready. Once the first batch of everything was done, I flipped the sign from closed to open and business flooded in. Some even had gifts. I was handed a small box from one of our neighbors as a birthday gift. It reminded me of the box Shadow gave me the day before he left. I still had the present wrapped up. I wasn't ready to open it, not without him with me.
PoV: Shadow"Happy Birthday!" Sonic came in to a large cake and presents from each of us.
"Oh you guys~" he had the biggest smile, "I love you so much."
The kids had their gift, they drew a big picture of all of us together. Sonic stuck it on the fridge with a magnetic. Rouge got him an expensive shirt. I got Sonic to myself after the kids were asleep.
"Shadow, I have something for you," Sonic said.
"It's your birthday," I sat on the bed, "You supposed to be getting gifts, not giving them."
"I've kept this since you gave it to me," Sonic showed me the very gift I gave him the day I left his side, "I didn't want to open it without you there."
"Well you better open it then," I kissed him and he unfolded the wrapping paper.
Sonic slowly lifted the lid of the box. Inside was a pair tiny pink socks.
"Shadow..." Sonic started crying.
"I knew how much you wanted a baby. I was going to see of you wanted to adopt, but you sorta took care of that already," I held him in my arms as he cried with a smile on his face, "I'm sorry I missed the baby phase."
"It's fine. You're here now that's all that matters," he purred.
"You know, I have one last gift," I moved the sheets.
"Good thing the kids are asleep," Sonic locked the door.
"So," I pulled him over.
"Just one thing," Sonic side.
"And that is?"
"Don't get me pregnant again."
"No promises."
"Shadow."
"I love you."
"You're the reason I'm on birth control."
"I know."
