Ep 17

PoV: Sonic

"Mm... ... my head is killing me..." I groaned as the lighting bothered my eyes.

I brushed my teeth and got up. I felt horrible. My stomach was in knots and my head wouldn't stop pounding. Small sounds were horrible today.

"What the he'll is wrong with me?" My alarm went off and I threw it against the wall.

"Sonic," Rouge came in so quietly, I hardly noticed her, "how are you feeling?"

"I have a headache..." she hugged me and it blocked out a lot of the noise.

"Stomach ache too?" She asked, I nodded and she picked me up, "I've got just the thing. And don't worry, Shadow and I know to be quiet so you can rest."

She sat me next to Shadow on the couch, he handed me a glass. I didn't take it.

"Drink a sip. It's lemon water. It'll help your stomach," he placed it in my hands.

I drank it, it helped almost immediately. Rouge turned the lights down. It felt nice to be in the dark. I'll hand pull some noodles for some udon. I can't just do nothing all day.

"Sonic, where are you going?" Rouge asked as I got up.

"I'm making soup," I answered, getting out a mixing pan.

"Here, Sonic, let me make it-"

"I can do it myself."

I mixing in the indrediants until I a got a nice ball of egg noodle dough. I began making the broth and let it simmer as I began pulling the noodles. Rouge was watching me, but I didn't mind. I finished pulling the noodles and cut the into the ideal length before chopping the veggitables and slicing the meat.

I mix it all together, adding three soft boiled eggs and finally the noodles. I left the meat out and raw, the water would cook it once it's served.

I set out three bowls, sliced the eggs open. The whites solid and yolks spilling into the soup. I placed the meat on top, laid out as a fan.

"Soup's done," I said, as I poured glasses of lychee juice to drink along side the soup.

"Sonic, you didn't have to make this," Rouge said.

"Soup's. Done." I repeated myself as I set out the sauces.

"Rouge, it's better to just enjoy the meal," Shadow sat down next to me and mixed his soup.

I added some spice to mine before I ate. This makes me feel so much better. So glad mom taught me how to cook.

"It's delicious," Rouge smiled as she stuffed the meat in her mouth.

"There's more beef on the cutting board of you need more," I felt more relaxed now.

"You look like your feeling better," Shadow rubbed the back of my ear.

"Yeah, it's an old recipe. I used certain spices and veggitables that can help with pain," I said, taking a bite of noodles with some diced cabbage.

"Impressive," Shadow finished him and left the bowl in the sink.

"I didn't know you could do medicine with food, other than drugging someone," Rouge slurped her egg.

"You can. There's lots of foods that can act like medicine. In this case, it's hangover food. Pho is good for this too," I washed my bowl and Shadow's. Then our cups. I stretched and yawn, "I'm gonna go take a nap. Leave your dish in the sink, I'll wash it after."

PoV: Shadow

Sonic went to bed and I cleaned up for him. We had another mission soon, there seemed to be a lot of criminals lately.

--- 8 pm ---

Sonic was in the bath, Rouge was distracted by her show. I picked up the computer and logged into the G.U.N files on us. Sonic were under 'confidential'.

"They're keeping his file a secret from us," Rouge said, "I did catch a glance."

"What'd you see?" I asked.

"Well, his running speed is far beyond the sound barrier," I kept trying to type in the correct password to see for myself, "and he's the retired hero of mobius. He too the forms from me before I saw anymore."

"I'm in," I checked her information, "Who the hell was he? Even G.U.N doesn't have anymore information besides his gender, speed, and job."

"Look, there's no link to his parents or family. You think he was another rest like you?" She asked.

"That could be a possibility, but his race is hedgehog. They put me down as test subject," I checked around for any other information. There was nothing left on him.

"Look, here's something. A video," Rouge clicked the video.

"You've lost Eggman," it was Sonic, but this side of him was one we had never seen, "It's game over."

"You really thing... I'll let you win... like this..." it was fat man who was coughing up blood. Sonic was covered in bruises and cuts. He was bleeding from his arm.

"Is this him?" Rouge asked.

"Hard to believe it," I zoomed in.

The steel bar above him broke and collapsed, Eggman should have been dead, but Sonic caught it to keep it from killing him.

"You saved your enemy," he said.

"You might be an enemy, but you don't... deserve to die," Sonic started struggling under the weight of the burning metal he tried holding up.

"Your mistake."

"Aaahhhh!" Sonic scream, Eggman stabbed him with a broken shard a steel in his lower stomach.

That's where he got the scar. It was a fight.

Sonic collapsed and Egg was crushed under the rubble. The camera turned to fuzz and the replay button appeared.

"What the hell?" Rouge collapsed to her knees, "that.was his life."

"It's no different from what we do," I removed any trace of me hacking into G.U.N and turned off the computer.

"Yeah, but we have each other. We've never gotten hurt like that," she cried, "I need to go hug him!"

"Wait Rouge!" I chased after her as soon as she took off, "You're wake him up!"

"I don't care, I hate that video!"

"What video?" Sonic was up, and he definetly was not happy.

"Oh sweetie!" Rouge grabbed him and kissed him.

That intimidation he had as he glared at us field once blush coated his face.

"Well, at least he's not pissed anymore," but I sure as hell want to knock Rouge out for kissing him... and still not stopping...

"You're always going to be safe here. I promise," she started smothering him.

"Don't suffocate him," I sat back down.

"I can't help it, I hate scary videos. I need some comfort from my little boy," she carried him to the couch and kept him on her lap.

"If it was scary I don't want to know," Sonic shook his head.

"We could watch a scary movie," she started teasing him.

"No!"

"Scary stories~"

"No! I don't what to!"

"Lets watch them in the dark!"

"No!"

Well, it is fun to live here with them.

But after seeing that...

... I have to protect him.
