PoV: Shadow

  Sonic was acting different all weekend. He was making candies and baking sweets constantly. He stopped saying no when Rouge would touch, dispute how inappropriate. I quickly found out why while reading through my email.

"Rouge," I called her over so she'd take her hands out of Sonic's shirt, "Come here."

"What, Sonic was letting me spoil him. He's never that willing, this could be my only chance," Rouge whined.

"I think I know why Sonic is making a sweet shop in out kitchen," I showed her the email, "We leave in less than two months."

"June 23rd. That's so soon."

"I think he's letting you touch him because he's worried about us leaving," I said.

"Oh my baby blue is gonna miss us... I'm gonna miss him too..." Rouge's annoying cheerfulness disappeared.

"It's going to be fine. This is why we started saving so he can get a place with him and none of G.U.N's restrictions," I looked at the date, June 23rd... What was it about that date? PoV: Sonic

  I pulled the funnel cake out of the oven and set it by the window to cool. I was a little startled to see all the eyes peaking over the back fence.

"What's that?" A kid asked.

"Um... funnel cake..." I answered.

"It smells really good~" someone else said.

"What else you making in there?"

"I smell brownies."

"Brownies? I want the pie."

"Look he was chocolates, did you make the candies too?"

"Y-yeah I did," I could

"Sonic," Shadow put a hand on my shoulder, "Why not let them have some? We can't finish it all anyway."

  I sprinkled powdered sugar over the funnel cake and moved everything onto plates. I wrapped the candies in baking paper and placed them in a basket I hung on the door. It was eleven am. I set things out on the lawn with Shadow and Rouge's help. Everything I had made was eaten and gone by noon. Rouge and Shadow had had their fill, not even hungry for lunch.

"The whole neighborhood wanted a taste of your cooking," Rouge had me in her lap as she laid back against the house, "oh... you put everyone in a food coma."

"I'm glad you liked it all," I said as I let Rouge pull me down against her.

"Sonic, let's get you inside," Shadow picked me up and carried me inside.

  I couldn't help myself, I gave Shadow a rock on the lip before he put me down. We spent the day together, it was nice... but my mind continued wondering to the day I would say goodbye. Before bed I flipped to June 23rd on the calender.  I picked up some white out and covered Sonic's Birthday with it. I waited for it to dry before writing Goodbye in its place.

"I'm gonna miss you guys..." I smiled, remembering the old house and this one. The room was empty, I turned the lights off, this dark emptyness. This would be the house after we leave, "I'll miss you a lot."
