JRS CANON

Mary passed her fingers through Jason's hair as he grabs her hips during a long kiss full of desire. Once they unlace her corset and she ripped way his shirt they hear a knock at the door of the girl's laboratory. The two teenagers stared at each other with fear as they hear the voice that came from the hallway.

"Mary? I know you are there, can we talk for a sec?" The voice of the Virginia delegate in the Congress echoed in the room. He was also known as Thomas Jefferson. And Mary's father.

He would never walk to the attic (where Mary established her scientific lab since her 10 years old) unless he really needed to talk to his daughter.

"Just a second!" The girl said out loud as she reached for her corset and try to tie it again.

She gives a loose knot and pushes her new lover for the secret exit at the opposite wall as the boy pulls his jacket over his shoulder with the shirt badly fixed.

"Out! Out! Out!" Mary whispers loudly but Jason grabs her wrist and turn around, stealing a kiss from the girl.

"Till next time, crazy J" He says knowing the nickname would piss her off. She hated to be called the Crazy Jefferson for her inventions, that's why she kept her overage intelligence in secret. Only selected people knew about it and Jason was the first lover she ever brought to her lab.

"Shut up Jinx, and don't forget to stay quiet this time." She also knew it would piss him. Mary always uses to joke that the school's soccer team forward was extremely unlucky and would screw up in the game at some point during every match.

"You command ma'am." He says smirking and takes an impulse before goes down on the slide inside of Jefferson's house walls; that goes from the attic to the backyard.

Mary activates W.A.T.S.O.N once again and the little robot starts to hide the secret passage as the girl stands up and grab her inventor's apron, tying it up on her back tightly, as she ran to open the door.

"Hey dad, sup?" Mary was also an extremely good liar.

The tall man was hanging at the door jamb with his arms crossed and he just looks around before saying "Did something happened in here...?"

"Nope, just a chemical reaction that did not end as I was hoping to" Mary was good in double meaning phrases and also super chill with lies in situations where most of the people would just be screaming on the inside.

"Uhum, ok..." The man was nodding but still couldn't believe in one word. "Mary, what really happened in here? Your hair is messed up."

The girl instinctively put a curl from her hair behind her ear. As a daughter of Jefferson, she learned since pretty young age how to let her puffy hair perfectly impeccable almost every second of the day.

All Mary could think was "SHIT". But her genius mind worked faster and what she actually said was "I told you, I tried to mix potassium with water and it made a little explosion... Why are you so suspicious?" She then put a hand on her hips as the other remained at her back with a raised eyebrow and an almost invisible victorious smile.

Seeing his daughter reaction, Thomas thought "Oh so that's how it's gonna be. This girl will be reminded that her father is a congressman and a (now gladly married, love ya my Angel -3-) ladies' man himself". He raises an eyebrow and says "Because you've never had an explosion in all those years. And I didn't hear a bang."

Mary's heart was pounding faster, but so was her brain scouring for more brilliant excuses. "Of course you didn't, I-I developed this acoustic insulation last week" As she said the sentence, she would be covertly sending new tasks for W.A.T.S.O.N. with the small remote in her hidden hand. "This way you and mom don't have to worry about my midnight projects noises and finally have some rest at night."

Her father remained in silence for a second before leaning close to her face with a defiant look "Prove it."

She was extremely nervous but all she did was rolling her eyes "Pff- Sure, come in." Mary stepped back as she hoped her loyal assistant had done the fastest work she had ever sent him to do.

Thomas looked around and said "Well, where is the... 'Acoustic insulation'?"

Mary closes the door and takes a step back to look to the wall. Oh boy... Poor W.A.T.S.O.N had done indeed the fastest work. He only hanged the huge tarpaulin Mary used to cover the Gianbot for New Jersey's scientific fair almost a year ago (don't need to say they didn't let the girl sign for it) and unmounted him to use the parts to build the little W.A.T.S.O.N.

"Ahm..." She babbles, trying to think in a hard explanation to make the tarpaulin sounds like something advanced. "Here... Here we have a high-density fabric that isolates all kind of noises with this hig- OH FU-" She interrupts herself as the tarpaulin starts to fall from one side and she ran to grab it.

She jumped in a box that was near as fast as she could ever think she could and stands there in tiptoes, holding the tarpaulin as high as she could reach. "As- As I was saying..." She says laughing nervously looking at her father from over her shoulder.

But then the girl went too forward and yelled when fell from the big box, bringing all the rest of the tarpaulin to the floor with her. Thomas just sighs and knelt down next to her as she tried to get out from under the heavy tarpaulin.

"...Who was the boy this time?" He simply asked.

Mary face found the way out and said looking down "... Jason Miller..."

Thomas helped his daughter to get in her feet again and then asked "Boyfriend?"

"NO, Geez no" Mary says like he had said the most nonsense thing in the world as she argues with her arms.

"And you were..." Thomas felt a weird taste in his mouth trying to say it out loud with his 19 year old daughter "Doing it. One time?"

"Uh- Yea" Mary replies with a small nervous smile, but her father is still staring at her "What?! It was the first time he came here" He raises an eyebrow "Ok it wasn't!"

He looks around for a moment, thinking in all the genius and brilliant inventions Mary had already created and finally concludes "Ok, let's make a deal. I won't tell you mother about what happened... And you... Just... Don't have a kid. Cuz I'm not ready to be killed by your mom"

"Deal" She raises her hand but then retreat "Wait. But I can keep the meetings at the lab, right? I'm always careful, you can chill about it."

He sighs defeated "I know that if I say no you will think in some way to disobey me so-"

"I like the way you think!" And finally reached for his hand and shake it.
