Modern!AU

Angelica was peacefully reading a book in the couch, unaware of her boyfriend looking astonished at her from behind. For Thomas, she was the most gorgeous woman he ever saw in his life (and the man already saw a bunch of women if I may add) and he loved her more than anything. They used to argue A LOT, but in the end, they would always makeup and continue loving each other as nothing else matter. But that night it was different.

Thomas finally moved from his appreciation post and kisses Angelica's neck, making the girl jump and drop the book. Right away she realizes what was happening and smiles with delight as she places her hand in Thomas' face as he leaves a mark in her skin.

"Alexander, stoop..." She moans and both of them freeze in the same second.

Thomas gets away from Angelica and punches the back of the couch in anger. The girl turns around and grabs his arm.

"Wait Thomas I didn't mean-"

He pushes his arm back and says coldly staring at her "Don't say another thing, Angelica."

She stands up and tries to fix the mess she made "Please it wasn't- He is not- I-" But she couldn't think in even one complete sentence to help. She ends up covering her face with her hands, in the edge of tears "I'M SO SORRY!"

"THAT'S THE POINT!" Thomas bursts out and she takes the hands out of her face to look at him "I KNOW YOU ARE BUT THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME, ANGELICA! YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO FIGHT WITH THAT BASTARD AT WORK EVERY DAY AND THEN GET HOME AND STILL NEED TO COMPETE WITH HIM?! THAT'S NOT FAIR!"

"Thomas, calm down please, it's not- It's not like he is my ex-boyfriend or something, he is my brother in law... And my friend. No big deal" Angelica tries to calm him down.

He snorts as he crosses his arms and says in a low voice "Yeah? Well, I don't think you feel like this..."

She chuckles without knowing how to react to that "What?"

"I mean..." Thomas says and sighs "God damn it, you even use that necklace he gave to you and..." He stops talking for a second before continuing "I can't take this anymore..."

Angelica's face turns into a concerned expression "What you mean?"

"I mean that until you decide what the hell you want we can't be together..." Thomas says with anger but still holding back his tears.

The girl had no reaction at first by feeling her heart broke in a million pieces, but finally, she crosses her arms and also replies in anger "Yeah? Well, I think it's a great idea."

Thomas actually expected her to reply something like that, both of them were way too proud to yield during an argue; even though the two were completely in sorrow inside by that moment.

"Yeah..." He says with a sad voice "Maybe with a break you can finally find a way to be satisfied..."
