"Laurens!" The policeman called and the girl turned around "There's a visit for you"

Frances' eyes got brighter as her cell door was open and she followed the cop until the visitor's room. Visit? If it's not my family it must be Georges or Susan; they are the only ones who constantly visit me.

When they arrived, she actually saw her boyfriend sitting at the other side of the glass wall nervously shaking his leg. He sadly smiled at her when she appeared and then sat in front of him when her handcuffs were taken out. Both of them grabbed the phone in each of their sides to start talking "Alfred, I'm so happy to see you again, babe..."

"Yeah... Are you ok? How are things there?"

Frances sighed "Horrible... Alfred, I don't belong here. I did nothing. Do you have any news about Mr. Hamilton?"

"Nothing beside him and Burr have been fighting more than usual"

"Oh no..." She grunted.

"What did you expect? Hamilton is by your side while Aaron will defend his daughter with everything he has and strongly believes you did it"

"But I didn't! I would never-"

"Turn down the volume, Laurens! I won't ask again!" The cop by the door scolded her and the girl sighed.

"Anyway, why are you here?" She asked quieter with hurt evident in her voice "You never came to visit me in these three months and-"

"Frances, I need you to tell me the truth" He interrupted her sharply and her mouth kept open as she looked at him in shock "Did you do it?"

She hesitated before whispering "You more than anyone should know me better than that"

"Look, I'm sorry, but the evidences are really strong against you and honestly- I wouldn't doubt it"

"I can't believe you really said that"

"Your fingerprints were all over the crime weapon-"

"Of course they were, it was my kitchen knife"

"And everyone knows you have a thing for Philip-"

"Had, Alfred. HAD. He is my best friend since we were in middle school, who never had a crush for someone at that time?"

"I don't know, but you can't say that never felt jealous over Theodosia"

"Of course I did, I'm not made of stone, damn it. But it was before I knew you" She said placing her hand at the glass, helplessly looking at him "You know Theo and I became great friends in college, I would never be capable of doing such a thing..."

"Even when you knew they were having trouble in the relationship and Philip was close to asking her in marriage?"

"Ok, what is going on here? Are you Burr's assistant or some shit?" She asked getting angry at him and her hand falls from the glass in a fist "You're painting me as a cold blood jealous b*tch just like everyone has been doing lately. And if you wanna hear, I'll repeat what I've already told a thousand times. Theo came to my house that night exactly because of her problems with Philip, we ordered pizza and I tried to convince her at all costs that he truly loved her because I know how important she was for him and I would never stab either of them by their back and sabotage them when I already was in a relationship. I went to get the pizza and when I came back I couldn't find her until I went to the backyard and she was already dead. And I still have no clue of what happened but some cold-ass killer murdered my friend in my damn house!"
