The One When the Two Get Together

YAAY! Got the files from the old computer back! (Heathers!AU just got updated as well) And here's the final part of that fluffy Jeggy story :3

"Are you insane?"

"I'm sorry, I really am" Peggy says as gesticulates with her hands "I know what can happen if they get me here but I just needed to know if you were alive!"

He sighs and hugs her, he just wanted to be close to her the biggest amount of time as possible "And I'm sorry I made you worry that much... But they won't send our letters until the war slows down a bit... Also how the hell did you get here?"

"I may or may not have ridden a horse for three hours straight without anyone in the house notice..." She says and he takes a step back staring at her, she gives him a nervous smile "Sorry again?"

"YOU COULD BE DEAD RIGHT NOW!" He says in anger "You know the red coats are out there checking the roads after revolutionaries! My God, Margarita..." He turns around, placing his fingers at his forehead extremely worried and guilty.

"I know! I know all of this, I just... I just couldn't take another month without any news about you because I lov-" Peggy stops her sentence the second she realized what she was saying and John looks at her from over his shoulder.

"What?" He whispers thinking his ears misheard it.

"What what?" She replies getting redder and grabs her arms, holding herself tightly.

"What did you say?" He says turning around and looks right into her eyes, making her forget how it's like to form words for a second.

"I-I don't what I was saying I-I was just- Just worried about yo-you, that's all"

"No, it was not that" He replies with a smug smile and take a step closer, making Peggy leans back and stutter a few nonsense syllables as she tries to form a sentence. John smiles again at her and finally says "I love you too"

All her nervousness was now gone and she stared at him wide-eyed "You do?"

"Of course I do" He says giggling and she smiles wide as a single tear roll down. Anyone never said that to her. Peggy's sisters were the desired ones by men, she was always left aside. But this handsome guy chose her over any other girl and she never felt so happy before.

John wipes the tear away and without any hesitation, he locks their lips. Finally kissing the girl he wished for per months. They jump apart from each other once someone clears their throat loudly. The couple turns to the entry of the tent, both terrified and embarrassed by being caught, and see Washington standing there with the arms crossed and a guilty Alexander behind him.

"ARGH I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER!" John shouts, near to pull out his own hair due to the stress.

Once the general caught them, the general asked to have a talk with her at his own tent. John and Alex stood outside as John kept walking in circles and their other two friends, Lafayette and Hercules, showed up to try to calm the freckled guy down.

"Dude, chill" Hercules shouts "She is gonna be ok"

"You don't know that for sure!"

"Shush you two! I'm trying to hear..." Alexander says and one second later the four men were spying what was happening inside.

Peggy never felt so nervous in her entire life. General Washington was a respected, important and powerful man and that scared her, especially when he simply sat in his chair staring at her for a few minutes; what felt more like hours; without saying a word.

"What are you doing here, Miss Schuyler?" He finally says and Peggy jumps in her seat.

"Uhm... I... I don't really know it either..." She says sincerely.

"Well, by what I saw back there I can have an idea" He replies holding back a giggle which the girl didn't notice over her nervousness.

"Yes..." She whispers and blushes slightly.

"We're through" Was all John could think as he saw how the meeting was going.

"You are an extremely brave girl for getting here just to see your fiancé; even though I wasn't aware mister Laurens was engaged" Both John and Peggy blushed violently. The three other guys spying looked at John with teasing expressions.

"Shut up" Was all he said in return as his own cheeks were still burning and the others tried to repress their laughter.

Peggy shouted nervous "Oh no no sir, we don't-"

"I really expect it to be true because in that way I can make an exception for this little meeting" He interrupts her and winks, which made her speechless "As long as this doesn't happen again for your's and everyone's safety"

"Ah- Y-Yes sir, of course" She finishes it with a glad smile and the general nods with a kind smile as he gets up and walks around the table, standing right in front of the girl; which made her feel really tiny and powerless.

He offers his hand and Peggy takes it reluctantly. Washington looks down at her and says before kissing her hand "Just be true, dear"

Peggy widened her eyes and all the fear she once had of that kind man disappeared. She smiles at him softly once again "Thank you, sir"

He points to the tent's exit with the head "You're excused now, Miss Schuyler. And I suggest you to leave before sundown"

"Yes, General Washington" She nods "And thank you very much once again" As she turns towards the exit, Peggy glanced a few heads hiding and she chuckled.

Outside, the four soldiers were trying to act natural once the girl walked out, as to pretend they weren't spying on her.

"So, how did it go?" John asks calmly since he heard it all and knew they weren't in trouble.

"Well, you see..." She jumps and steals a kiss from him before whispering in a playful way "He said that prefers Mrs. Laurens"

The other men start laughing as they heard her teasing and she also joins them. John also laughs but he couldn't contain himself but think"It really suits her though..."
