It was a cold Winters day and I was working late in my office. Well not exactly working, I was researching, Wild Lions, the gang that killed my parents. I was able to find the gang after a long time of searching. They are an American gang but they have situated all around Europe too. Their logo is the lion, just like the tattoo that was on the arms of the people who killed my father. There isn't much information on them at all. And no information about my mam being taken. Day by day my hope for finding her decreases it's already been 20 years since the last time I saw her..

Anyway while I was "working" Mickey came in.
"Alexa, how's the missing persons case going ?"
"Mhm.." I said without even paying attention, my eyes were glued into my computer screen.
"ALEXA!
"Ohh gosh, sorry, I em I was.."
"Researching again ?"
I nodded "Sorry Mickey, its just today is exactly 20 years since the incident and I... want to find something so bad..." My eyes were filling up with tears saying that.
"But Alexa today isn't just the 20 years anniversary of their death, it's also your 25th birthday. You shouldn't be here sulking, you should go enjoy yourself. How about you take the day off tomorrow, go hangout with your friends."
"But Mickey, I have a shift tomorrow, and I won't miss it!" I said firmly. I honestly didn't feel like getting the day off. I don't exactly have much friends..

"Alexa, you are like a daughter to me and I care about you, I want you to go and enjoy yourself at least once."
"No, I'm just a replica of your real daughter..."
I should probably explain something to you.
I'm obviously not Mickey's real daughter but he used to have a daughter who unfortunately went missing around 22 years ago. She was never found... Mickey had lost all hope for finding her so he took me in instead.
I could see Mickey was really hurt by what I said, we never brought up this topic.
"You, you're not a replica Alexa.. I love you very much.. But I understand if you feel this way." he said with his voice full of sorrow
"I'm sorry..I didn't mean to-"
"It's okay, so are you gonna go out?"
"Maybe tomorrow, today I just want to hang out with my... uh dad?"
"Dad? Did you just call me dad ?" He said joyfully his eyes began to sparkle. "You've never called me dad..." A tear streamed down his slightly wrinkled cheek.
"Well I am now." I said gleaming "Let's go home and have a movie night."
And so we went to Mickey's house and watched a whole lot of crappy movies while stuffing popcorn in our faces, just as we did when I was little.

•THE NEXT DAY•
I got up quite late as we watched movies all night. I decided to keep my promise to Mickey and go out for a change. I called some of my colleagues from work and I arranged for us all to go to the new bar in town called The Spice. At 7 o clock we met up and made our way to the Splice. We ordered some drinks and a pizza to share.

"Y'all this is gonna be so fun, I see lots of cute boys already, sorry gotta leave yous cause I need a lover." said my friend Estella and she went off chasing boys.
"Don't do something I wouldn't do!!" Shouted my other friend Allie after her.
But Allie later went of to fix her makeup and I was left alone, slowly sipping my tropical cocktail. Was this a good idea to come here? I wasn't really having a good time. I decided to leave. I quickly gulped down my cocktail, paid the bartender and grabbed my coat, but where was my purse? I frantically searched my table and seat. I was beginning to panic. My stomach got all knotted up and my palms began to sweat.
"Hun, you looking *hiccup* for this?" said a tall muscular guy that stenched disgustingly of alcohol.
"Yes.. thank you ?" I replied cautiously.
"Oh ho ho, you *hiccup* ain't h..etting it so easy. How bout... ya show my, uh me some, grati *hiccup* tude."
I could hardly understand anything he was saying his words were so slurred and sloppy. His eyes were glassy and they were half closed. His whole body weight was sprawled on the bartender's table. I could easily take him down.

"You actually don't want to mess with me sir!" I bravely scoffed raising an eyebrow and curling my lip up.
The guy started laughing and snorting like a pig and sluggishly stood up to face me.
Soon a big crowd gathered, everyone wanted to see this. The man pulled himself together, as best as he could and puffed his chest out, trying to smirk but ended up looking stupid.

"Or what b*tch ?!" He said snarky. He grabbed my arm hardly, squeezing it. "I need to teach you women some *hiccup* respect!!"
I actually wasn't afraid of him as I have dealt with much worse but everyone in the bar saw me as a meek lamb.
Estella and Allie were both shouting at the guy from a distance telling him to stop but he didn't care, or probably didn't even hear.

His grip got harder and harder and he lifted his free arm up and it looked like he was about to slap me. I could easily get out of this as I knew a lot of ways to defend myself. However before I got time to kick his groin I heard a loud shout.

"Mate, let the poor girl go!"
Everyone turned around to see who said that and the man dropped his arm in an instant.
I saw a very handsome man with dark spiked brown hair and dreamy beautiful blue eyes coming over. He had a noticeable chiseled chin which looked sharp enough to cut anything.

"I wouldn't be here if *hiccup* I were y you!" said the man and grabbed my arm once again, but I could see him gulping, showing his fear.
The handsome stranger got face to face with the man holding me. The stranger pulled the sleeve of his black shirt up, tensed up his arm so that his veins were visible and punched the drunk man right in the nose.
"Ha maybe I should teach you how to respect women!"
The man fell back in shock and he and his bloody nose ran out of the bar quicker than lightning. I was safe even thought I was never in danger. But just who was that man that saved me?
