Chapter 24: Soaring

It felt real and genuine. Hunter must have been hurting to come into my room to kiss me and say sorry. He was crying, I was certain, and that broke my heart to hear him so down. However, I made no effort to show him that I was awake. After his apology he walked back out of my room and into his. I drifted back to sleep almost instantly with his touch still lingering on my forehead.

Morning came very fast. The sound of pots and pans awoke me. It was still early, and I so enjoyed lying sprawled on my soft bed, but I had to get up eventually and face Hunter. I hoped that he would be in a better mood.

I got up slowly just so that I could think about what I was going to say. I was putting on a white tight shirt over my head while planning my lines when there was a knock on my door. This startled me and my heart dropped, but I knew who it was.

"Alexa, can I come in?"
I was going to say 'no' but my tee was covering up my face and so instead I let out a muffled sound which Hunter perceived as a yes.
He came into my room 'obediently' and got quite the shock. He saw me in my black laced underwear desperately trying to pull down my tee that was still covering my face and neck.
"CLOSE YOUR EYES!" I shouted panicked. I could feel my cheeks heat up and my legs become weak. There was a pause.
"Should I help..?" I was struggling...
"Yes... Just don't look!"
I shakily held me arms up. I could hear something being put down and then I felt Hunter tugging down my tee. His own close body heat radiated to me.

After a quick struggled, I was sorted. Upon opening my eyes I could see that Hunter's were closed. I sighed in relief that he respected my wishes. Obviously he still saw me in my bra... Not that it was the first time, but still!
He cautiously opened one eye and then the next. His face was slightly red too and he looked as embarrassed as I was.

"Uh thanks. Gosh this was embarrassing.." I mumbled and pulled my top down so that my panties weren't visible. My eyes traveled to my bedside table which now had a silver tray on it with a pile of pancakes, strawberries and coffee. It smelt delicious!
"I was bringing you breakfast, and well I misheard and your shirt-."
"No, no it's okay. And thank you for this as well." I pointed at the tray. "I guess it shrunk?" I chuckled.

He nodded awkwardly and turned to leave.
"Hey. Can I eat with you?"
I don't know where that came from but I wanted his company. I wasn't that mad anymore. His eyes brightened up and he smiled and left.

I got dressed properly and balanced my tray all the way to the dining area located in the sitting room. Hunter got up from his seat when I approached and stood by my chair. As I set down my tray and sat down, he pushed my chair in, like a gentleman. Just as Kai did...
He sat back down and we dug into our pancakes. He was a good cook surprisingly and I enjoyed my meal completely, savouring each bite.

I admit, it was awkward because of what happened yesterday and this morning. The corner of my eye kept focusing on Hunter as I ate, it looked like he wanted to say something desperately.
"Just say it."
He turned around to face me, took a deep breath and ran his hand through his hair.
"I suppose I should. Alexa, I cannot express...my apology enough. I am really... sorry. I shouldn't have acted as I did. I'm not used to someone like you."
"Someone like me?"
"Someone so caring, outspoken, loving, wild and..." he blushed. "Sexy."
I almost choked on my food. "Sexy?" I laughed.
"Yes... You're also cute the way you struggle with your clothes and I must always do it for you." A slight smirk emerged and he was struggling not to laugh. I was sure he was flirting with me!
"Hey stop!" I laughed turning away from his as I got bright red.

His face went serious for a second and he put his hand on mine, making me drop my fork.
"Alexa, I would love... to take you on a date. That is if you forgive me?"
My mouth dropped into an 'o'. I had forgotten about yesterday, and I was in the present moment only. I loved the idea of spending some time with him.
"Oh course! I would love to!"
His lips arced into a smile and his eyes shined beautifully.
"Go get ready, when you're done your food."
He got up and kissed my hand. I could see that he was trying his best to be perfect.
"You are indeed a gentleman." I giggled slightly mocking him.
"I am really trying, for you..."

I got dressed up with a nice red dress, did my hair and makeup happily. It was the first time in a while that I was in a good mood, however I worried something would go wrong.

I met Hunter at the door. He had a simple blue shirt and jeans on.
"Hello Beautiful!" He smiled when I came out.
"Oh hush, this is nothing."
"No, you're stunning, sexy, mesmerising."
This was the second time he called me sexy today and I felt myself soaring with happiness and appreciation.
"Ready for our first and sort of second date?"
"Can't wait!" I gleamed and took his hand which took him by surprise but he was happy. It was like we started dating for real.

"Where are we going?" I asked as we stepped into the car waiting for us at the hotel.
"A traditional Italian market and then a cafe for food. Is that ok? I didn't have long to prepare." He chuckled but seemed shy, trying to earn my approval.
"That sounds great." I reassured him.

Today Hunter was very different. He wasn't wild and rude, he was caring and a little shy.
After a short drive to Milan we stopped at a big outdoor market by a little lake. As Hunter and I got out hand in hand, the smell hit me. I could smell the aroma of fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, coffee and freshly baked bread. I was suddenly hungry again. The weather was nice and warm with an occasional breeze to cool us down.

We walked down the pedestrian street slowly, talking and admiring the scenery as we did. I never got to experience Italy in such a beautiful way! I loved every second of it, and it was just the start of our date...
