Chapter 8

Nikki's POV:

I forced Roy to put all of my books that he brought to the hospital back, exactly where they were on my little book shelf. He didn't put the seventeen books back correctly, so I made him reorganize the book shelf, in alphabetical order. That took ten minutes. Afterwards I showered and then chilled on the living room couch with Roy. He was watching a recording of Scandal. My mom must of forgotten to delete it after she watched it.

Roy was sitting in the middle of the couch. I went and flopped my legs over his sitting form. Some people may take that as a position that only people in a relationship would do, but I was quite free with Roy, as well as Nick and Chris.

"I think you're starting to get too comfortable with me," Roy said, during a commercial. I never understood why he didn't fast-forward through them. "Do you have a weird crush on me?"

"No, it's more than that, Roy," I joked, "I love you."

"Of course you do," Roy laughed. I slapped him with the pillow behind me. He then tackled me, tickling me.

"Stop it Roy!" I yelled, while laughed and squirming around.

"Is there something I need to be stopping?" Mom asked, through her room. She was joking too. She wouldn't even stop it if I asked her to stop him.

"I will give you a right hook, if you don't stop!" I yelled. I was completely serious about that, but Roy didn't take me all that serious.

"Yeah, right," Roy rolled his eyes. He kept tickling me. I pulled my right arm back and punched Roy in the face. It wasn't really hard or anything, I made soft impact and pushed his face to the side. Roys eyes opened wide and went back to watching Scandal.

Around six o'clock, Chris came in. Yup, Chris has a key to my house. My mom gave it to him, for when things weren't okay at home, when his mom was still married to his step-dad.

"My grandpa's here," Chris said, loud enough for my mom to hear. A few moments later Chris' grandpa walked inside.

"Hello, Nikki, Roy, and Eliza," Chris' grandpa greeted.

"Hey Mayor Thomas," I said while getting up to hug him. Roy went and shook his hand. It's kind of cool when you're best friend is related to the mayor. I think that town meetings are cool.

"Hello, Michael," Mom said, greeting Mayor Thomas. Hugged him and kissed him on the cheek. "I see that you're still working out." She patted his stomach. It wasn't as big as before, two months ago, the last time I saw him. My mom used to be the mayors physical trainer, before she started working at Bally Fitness.

"I just wanted to stop by, I haven't seen you all in awhile," Michael Thomas, aka Mayor Thomas, aka Michael, aka Chris' grandpa, said then left. My mom went back to her room. Roy got off of the couch.

"I'm going to Felicia's room," Roy announced. Roy was always nice enough to leave Chris and I alone for our Friday Night Hangout. Even if one of his shows were on.

"Thanks," I told him, "And you shouldn't get a bruise from that hook." Chris and I hopped onto the couch. "Were you still going to come over if you were giving me your silent treatment?" I asked Chris while he started going through channels.

"Yup, and I would hang out with Nick or your mom or Felicia. I would also ignore you."

"You would hang out with my mom," I put much emphasis 'mom'. "She's probably in her room reading Pride and Prejudice."

"Yeah, she and I could have a book club meeting!" My mouth dropped open when he announced that. Chris started laughing. He then started to dig through his backpack. It was a brown canvas bag with twenty-four different pins on it. Chris started collecting those pins once he got the bag two and half years ago at a fair in Wisconsin.
